So let me ask you the same thing, what's your favorite ATLA/TLOK character and which one do you relate to the most?

Hii Roseey! I lovedd reading your answer! It's very interesting to read about how others relate to their favorite characters. Sorry I took awhile to reply to this one. Here goes:

My favorite in ATLA is: Toph Beifong!

I love that she's very confident in herself and isn't afraid to speak her mind. She's a total badass too in every fight scene ugh I love her! Like, how can you not after watching The Blind Bandit!?

I personally relate to her as a tiny girl myself lol. I felt like it also made people extra protective of me. I even had the whole "people see me and they think I'm weak, but I can carry my own weight thanks"- phase. In hindsight, people were just being very nice. I just had a hard time receiving help from others. Not anymore!! I'm a lot better now. You want to carry my stuff? Thankyouverymuch you're too kindd! :D

Another thing about her that I relate to is that she's an introvert, has a hard time showing her emotions, very stubborn, and very observant!

In TLOK my favorite character is: Lin Beifong! (yes dear, we're the same. We are suckers for the Beifongs, apparently)

I love her from the very first episode too!! Her whole "your Avatar title might impress some people but not me" and "Cut the garbage, Tenzin" has me sold! Also the way she points at Korra ahhh!! Instant favorite! She has a hard shell but is very soft inside. She's very responsible and protective of those she loves. I love this woman!!

Personally, I relate to her, and these 2 other folks in the way that they are the eldest sibling who tries a bit too hard :)

I'll always have a soft spot for them <3

28. If you could have this character meet another in another media, who would you have them meet?

Whoa, wait! The fact that Dipwadia and I draw mammary glands to the merbian womans doesn't mean anything! >:D

If I used to think that merbs were ordinary amphibians, now I'm starting to perceive them as humanoid aliens with signs of it (although it's much easier for me to call them platypuses from the world of science fantasy). Accordingly, their reproductive process can vary depending on the conditions, covering any means of procreation.

I am impressed by the idea that in the course of evolution, merbs have acquired features characteristic of mammals, which allows them to reproduce through normal sexual intercourse. Such an adaptation of the body brings significant advantages for survival: for example, lack of moisture forces merbs to resort to live birth in order to minimize the risk of embryo death due to a dry environment. At the same time, they retain their ability to lay eggs in areas with high humidity without changing their ancestral traditions.

As a rule, boring and require the impossible: perseverance. Although the residents of terra show them respect, Merbian Council rarely gives any leeway and assigns them tasks that Olathes prefer to avoid. These tasks usually involve terraforming empty lands, community clean-ups or paperwork disguised as reports, but Hector somehow manages to make it fun. For example, he turns removing dried paint from a fence into a race, much to the annoyance of the council's head, who is unused to this approach.

If necessary, they take responsibility for search-and-rescue operations. Though their squadron doesn't have official registration, thanks to Hector, they are trusted to develop evacuation plans in case of natural disasters or cyclonian sieges. It is Hector who signs agreements with volunteer organizations, while Kerner and other merbs negotiate with terras to deliver appropriate resources (medicines, clothing, provisions).

Hector is useful in patrolling territories, protecting storage facilities from pests (I learned about the existence of the Gector bug repellent and couldn't resist), volunteering in soup kitchens, where he cuts meat, sharpens knives, and prepares offal. Thanks to his childhood experience working in the market, he can act as an intermediary for traders from other terras, ensuring they don't incur the wrath of xenophobic merbs.

Apart from the fact that he appears in a two-minute scene and utters only one phrase, this is the second adult merb we see in the entire series. He immediately caught my attention, and I was always curious about his past and what he does besides work. In my headcanon, he's less emotional and more resistant to stress than Stork, but he can feel awkward in communication and easily gets lost if the conversation turns to personal matters.

I will also be grateful if anyone can come up with a suitable name for him.

To be honest, I rarely thought about how Hector could influence the course of events, given that no one in the series cares about the merbs (I'm not trying to exaggerate, but all the times Terra Merbia is mentioned can be counted on the fingers of one hand). Though I suggest treating his story as something from a different timeline, I was pleased to rethink some of the details of lore!

By my count, Stork was 17 when the first invasion of Terra Merbia took place. At the same time, Cyclonians brought Hector and Kerner as laborers to the crystal mines. Stork had been in the wastelands for about three years, and by the time a group of kids went in search of Condor, Hector had organized a rebellion, taking advantage of the fact that Snipe and his troops were distracted by the call of the youth brigade.
