when doing graphics I almost always use a reference graphic, in this case it was this one, and try and see how my reference pic was made

so I opened a new canvas in photoshop (about 500x700px) and filled it with a light grey color

Then I downloaded paint splash brushes from deviantart (just search paint splash or paint textures or similar) and applied the textures & brushes on the canvas on a new layer, using the colors black, grey and white. Then I played with the opacity and effects (darken, multiply, lighter, etc.)

time for photos! using layer masks, I took screencaps and removed parts of the pictures I didn't need for my graphic

again, PLAY WITH EFFECTS. usually I set the opacity of the pictures to 60-90% and other effects that I use are lighter, hard light, soft light and overlay.

since I'm too lazy with coloring, I just use a psd (PSD #6 by ms-moretz) and back & white over everything

you might need to adjust the colors, brightness and contrast of the caps since they're probably from different scenes
