(Y/N) (Y/L/N), the English major that stole rich kid Peter Parker’s heart as she was called by most of the students, was sitting in her own dorm room stressed out over an exam  the next day instead of having fun with her beau at one of Tony Stark’s lavish parties.  How many times does anyone get an invite to one of those?

Hair tied up in a messy bun, wearing Peter’s college hoodie and shorts, she did not feel that sexy and glamourous.  She thought about Pete and how he was probably surrounded by beautiful women far more gorgeous and far richer than she’ll ever be.  He can have any woman he could ever want, and he wants to date her? She never understood why.  Not that she was complaining.  Her feelings for Peter were unexplainable.  Not even Jane Austen or Thomas Hardy could explain it.

As she decided she was going to call it a night she heard someone knocking on her door.  She opened it to see Peter standing before her.  He looked out of breath as if he ran here which was strange seeing as he could’ve swung over instead.  His tie was loosened at the neck and one or two of his shirt buttons was opened as if they were teasing her on purpose.  His hair was ruffled, and he had a big smile on his face.  He went straight in for a quick kiss.  

“Hello darling” he whispered.  

“Hey Pete” she smiled at him.  Their foreheads were touching and just as she was about to lean in for another kiss he lifted his hand to present her with a rose he was holding.

“For you my dear” he said. She took the rose from his hand and smelled it.  She then leaned it for that wanted kiss.

“It’s lovely, thank you” she said.  

They both walked into her place and he sat on her bed as she was putting away all of her stuff to have his full attention.  She left the rose on a small vase on top of her bookshelf.  

“How was tonight?” she asked him.  

“It was ok, would have been better if you were there” he said truthfully.  

“I’m sorry I wasn’t there Pete.  I wanted to be, it’s just my Professor wouldn’t listen to me when I asked to reschedule. I have been feeling guilty all evening” she told him.  

Peter sensing that she was getting more anxious got up from the bed and grabbed her hand.  

“Hey, hey, hey (Y/N), I didn’t mean to stress you out it’s ok that you didn’t go.  It wasn’t that fun anyway that’s what I meant.  You being there would have made it fun” he told her.

“But it’s a Tony Stark party!  Of course, it’s going to be fun.  I wanted to be there yet here I am reading about the cultural significance of Fifty Shades of Grey” she said annoyingly to him looking down at her notebooks.  

He laughed at what he thought was a joke until she looked at him dead in the eyes.

“Wait really?” he asked her.

“I wish I was.  My Professor is a bit of an idiot” she said to him.  

“You’re telling me” she laughed.  

“Anyway forget about that for the moment” he said to her “I came all the way here to spend some time with my girl so that’s what I plan to do”.

He twisted a bit of hair that fell out of her bun and caressed her face and he leaned in.  As they were kissing she took off her hoodie and his suit jacket.  As she went in for more of a taste he pulled away.  

“What is it?” she asked him.

“I almost forgot” he said and grabbed something from his pocket.  

“I had this made for you. Something to remind you of me when I’m not here.  Also, my girl deserves the world” he said as he made her turn around.  

He put a necklace on her and as he clasped it on, he kissed her on the neck tenderly and lovingly.  She looked down and saw a diamond necklace in the shape of a spider’s web (classic Pete).  Just by looking at it she knew it was expensive, too expensive for her liking.  She always felt bad when Peter bought her expensive gifts for no reason.  She didn’t need it and was always worried that he had to feel that he had to buy her love.  He could be the poorest man on Earth, and she wouldn’t love him any less.  

“It’s beautiful Pete, thank you, but…” she mumbled looking down at the beautiful gift.

“Don’t tell me that it’s too much darling” he told her.

“But it is too much Pete. You don’t need to buy me these diamond necklaces or the fancy clothes or the designer handbags.  As much as I love the thought and you have great taste, you will never have to buy your love for me, you got that ages ago.  I love you Peter Parker, for richer or poorer” she declared.

He smiled at her once more. God, he loved her.  She was a keeper and he knew it.  There was no way that he wasn’t planning on losing her any time soon.  He leaned in for another gentle kiss.  

“Ok, my dear, I understand. No more lavish gifts, only for special occasions from now on I promise” he told her “But promise me you’ll keep this present at least?  Believe me you make it look gorgeous.  Nobody else could pull it off”.

She smiled and giggled at him.  

“You got a deal Parker” telling him as she caressed his hair.  

“Now, where were we?” she asked him “Lets show each other how much we love each other huh?”

“Oh, darling if we’re going to play that game, believe me I’ll be up all night” he whispered as he kissed her ear lobe.

That evening they showed each other that all the supervillains, avengers’ missions or college exams are easy to handle as long as they faced it together.  

The next morning after spending a very late night together, a very panicked Peter Parker swung his equally stressed girlfriend to her English exam that she had accidentally overslept for.
