it’s legitimately one of my favorite movies of all time. not just horror. like. favorite movie ever
it’s just so good to have a horror movie that’s like HEY WE’RE BETTER WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER
So I totally understand why everyone is a bit disappointed about the Feysand baby thing, but I also understand the reasoning behind it also... They just went through a war and that can change perspectives a little bit. I was totally cool waiting for a bit before having kids and then I watched someone close to me struggle with infertility and I thought maybe I should get started in case that happens to me too, so even if the timing isn't what she had in mind, I get why she'd want to.
Pt 2: if she had made that decision before the war so soon after acomaf I would’ve been like wtf, but I get the progression in this instance. But I also feel it’s unfortunate considering so many young people read this series and I don’t want them to get the wrong impression that that’s the way they should feel too. Basically I don’t even know what I feel about this book.
If you think about it… when Feyre said that she wanted to wait to have a kid, she was thinking they would travel, have adventures, live just the two of them. But after acowar, that’s not what they’re doing. Honestly, they can probably never have that kind of life, given their positions. So now they are setting up that art studio and Feyre built this huge manor and that sounds a lot like what people do when they are settling down. Nesting, I guess. So what better time to start a family?
I wasn’t really crazy about them having a kid so soon, but Feyre has seen him. They know it’s going to happen. They are thinking about the future of Prythian and healing from everything that happens. Given how their lives have been upended because of Amarantha, and then Feyre being Made and the war and all of that, I don’t blame them for wanting a bit of stability. A bit of “normal.”
Plus, I remember Alis (I think??) saying that everyone was shocked when her nephews were born only five years apart, so it could be years, even decades, before feysand actually has a child. And Feyre’s not even pregnant! They are just trying. That’s all. Although, given how horny Rhys is, they might find themselves preggo pretty soon.
Your comment about the war and perspectives changing reminded me about the Archeron sisters and how they were together in acowar compared to acofas, but that’s probably another post. :)

Just started watching Les Revenants and it made me think of that one fic.
Yay! That show is amazing on so many levels. I want to rewatch it haha.
Also I still have this huge plot in my head for that fic (here is the tag to find it) but I stopped writing it because I wanted to turn it into an original project. But I haven’t done that either. So maybe I’ll just finish it as the fic hehe

My husband was excited to read Ready Player One because a lot of people told him it was good. By the time he finished it I could tell he was pretty disappointed. He kind of gave me this weird look when I asked him how he liked it and he was hesitant to say it was good and he kind of summed it up as "it was enjoyable kind of." I plan on reading it, but my hopes are not high.
I think for a certain kind of person, it’s great. I mean clearly, it’s popular. A lot of people do like it. I think I’ll write an actual review of it at some point. I just had a lot of problems, not only about the completely offensive attempt at representation, but prose and world-building and story-telling aspects.
The movie might be better, tbh, because at least I assume that Spielberg will have enough respect for his viewers to where he doesn’t feel like he has to explain every reference he is making.
