3. Do they have unusual speech patterns?

If you count that they don't vocalize like a human but make vocal sounds the same way a bird does, yeah! His voice has a click to it, hard C/K sounds. But it's kept much deeper and raspy like his old voice, rather than what you'd imagine from a parrots octaves.

Have there been any horrible consequences to well-intentioned choices your OC made? How did they cope with that?

For Riagain :D

Riagain is another who felt the conses start quencing in the Maguuma jungle. Cause unlike sylvari, he didn't have the protection of the Dream. He had the fun of being from the same tree as Malyck who he never even had the fortune to meet. Stepped into the jungle and...well, no defenses even when he knows about the dragon. He fell fast and was a major threat to his team for the entirety of HoT. He's still coping with the familiar faces he killed. He does a lot more research before going in to play hero now. Always have a backup plan or failsafe.

Skills he needs to improve are long range weaponry. He's amazing in close combat, but absolutely dogshit with distant targets and aiming.

🌟 - Enverts house, despite the horrific surgery room that is the basement, is very cozy! It's well furnished and has dimmed lights, lots of rich reds and browns. Makes it easy to not worry about staining if she somes upstairs from her work and wants to just sink into a comfy chair uwu

🌟 - Taomesin didn't learn to read until after SotO! It hadn't come up sooner, intentionally so due to the previous commander once he knew. And in SotO they ended up frustrated often by how little they knew and how much they had to ask for information due to their illiteracy. So they took time afterward to really try to work on it. They've got a passing 1st-2nd grade reading level now.

23. Stability or novelty?

Joel takes novelty absolutely. Stability isn't something it has the luxury of as an option for a long time, and while it should and ultimately would value that now, it honestly has lost touch with the fact that that'd be a good thing. I think if it got solid stability now...it would honestly panic a bit and have to take some real time and therapy to sort out that stability is good and not just going to be ripped away. Especially...with how it's built now

Ruan would take stability! They truly value stability a ton, and having that stability enables the chance to take chances and find novelty in life more. There's already been...so much novelty too, and moments where stability felt gone forever. They're content, and happy, with knowing when stability returns and is an option.

Riagain would LOVE some stability. In both life and physical form. He hasn't gotten either since the jungle, and he mourns that loss privately in small ways.

Matthias takes novelty. Stability can't be trusted, it's a trap and a lie people tell themselves to be content with dangerous stagnation. Stability only lasts until you're caught.

25. Safety or possibility?

Joel takes possibility! What's the use in safety if you go nowhere with it? Without possibility it wouldn't have its found family. It wouldn't have anything really. Yes...possibility did also cost Joel its body. But it doesn't consider that a sole cause or reason to cross possibility off. Possibility could...also fix it. Maybe. One day, it hopes.

Ruan would take possibility! Life is too short to not take it truly. And honestly, taking those chances could lead to safety, if you're helping lead the world out of danger once more. Everything they do aims to save the world from worst case scenarios, and they wouldn't be doing that if they just took safety for themself.

Riagain would take safety. Possibility wrecked him in a very very bad way, and almost cost the entire team everything. And the world. Too little too late now of course, he'll keep trying to make sure others don't run into those same possibilities now. But he wishes someone had been there to make sure he didn't too...

Matthias chooses safety every time. Possibility doesn't mean shit if it'll get him put back in the crosshairs of everything he's running from. No, safety is better. Safety is known. His methods are familiar to him, his walls he keeps up keep things moving. Everything is better this way.

He enjoys both, but is more prone to the spontaneity or intensity that comes with a quickie. Usually there's a reason a quickie is, well. a quickie. And that reason usually lends to why it's more intense.

Before HoT, absolutely! After HoT, he's gonna need a Long time trusting himself with any strangers in a remotely vulnerable position for the other party. But he'll get there, we'll get him back on the horse!

If Joel even remotely doesn't like someone it'll be petty about everythingggggg there's a lot of immaturity packed into it. And it's really not great at letting things go. It's really easy to spot when Joel hates someone because not a single comment will ever be civil, and if you need help with anything you know it'll be done with as little care as possible while still doing it.

Riagain is usually pretty level-headed and responsible. Overly so really, an overadjustment to offset how he looks and most people react. However. He can be extremely fucking petty about thr Pact whenever it needs a hand or wants to work together again. So many pact soldiers were ready to turn on sylvari, and he knows all of them would've taken a shot at him if they could. He'll often refuse to do favors for the pact, and if he does end up agreeing to any he's very blasé about it and noncommittal in his actions. He wants them to regret asking him at all, even if sometimes he's the only and best choice for something.
