for weeks guests have witnessed sunspear in a tizzy, wedding planning and protection of its inhabitants at an all time peak. whispers of the wedding being cancelled scattered throughout the shadows. but the martells remain unbent, they do not bow in the face of danger, and the wedding takes place on the 18th day of spring.
as expected of the martells, every inch of the palace has been decorated over the top. floral splashes adorn every possible surface, bright and bold colors to signify their happiness of welcoming their future ruling princess.
the ceremony is held without a hitch, the promises made to one another and to their kingdom. denyse redwyne becomes a princess of dorne with cheers and applause. the joy of the room overtakes even those who might not have been the most excited, smiles seen on almost every face in attendance.
and then comes time for the real celebration, the party held in the large courtyard and open air ballroom with plenty of feast, drink, and performers from all throughout dorne to keep everyone dancing until the sun rises.

being in king’s landing did absolutely nothing for vareena’s nerves , she normally loved being a social little butterfly , but on her own terms in highgarden. here , with her daughter , all she could do was worry. and when elif was on an energy high , running from stall to stall , all the lady could do was groan. but when her seven year old dashed across the vendor stall in front of another , “ elif ! ” comes her quick scold , eyes on her daughter for a moment before the other. “ i’m so sorry , she’s apparently so excited for the festival , she’s forgotten her manners. ”
he was somewhere off, separating himself from the crowd of people. a glass filled with ale was enough for now to keep him from wreaking havoc so soon after his arrival to king’s landing. his fingers tapped against the glass, an absent minded stare into the crowd of people that came and went. the abrupt presence of another was just enough to make his eyes roll, though he curbed that reaction as he gently swayed his ale filled glass forward. ❝ have you grabbed yourself a drink, yet? what a way to start off a dreadful week. ❞
the starks had never fared well in king’s landing. even throughout all of harry’s travels he’d purposely avoided the city, an inescapable veil of superstition coloring his thoughts. yet here he stood. despite his caution, the prince displayed a warm demeanor, smiling slightly, as he watched the festivities take place around him, a glass of wine, mostly untouched, in his hand. ❝ the festival is certainly as grand as all the records of it say. ❞ the bright lights, glamor, and noise was certainly a drastic change from the north. as was the weather. he looked over at his companion. ❝ have you been enjoying the festivities so far? ❞
the raging snow offered no favors to the guests of winterfell, trapping them all from returning home for the new year. in efforts to lighten spirits, house stark has chosen to throw the grandest of celebrations to ring in the new year, hopefully without bloodshed.
letters arrive to every door, a carnival + masquerade ball is to be had with feasts, dance, and merriment to warm even the coldest of hearts. in the courtyards of winterfell guests will find games + performers such as contortionists and fire breathers, in the ballroom they will find drinks and food, aerial silk acrobatics and live music.

this event will run from jan 3 ( starting at 6 p.m. cst ) jan. 18 ( ending at 6 p.m. cst ) and afterwards we will immediately move into arc iii. details for that will be found in a later post so you can better plot because there will be a 3 month time skip, taking us to dorne in the spring !

extended reservations
for current players we are offering the chance to place up to 2 fcs w houses + wcs on reserve for the duration of the event, to be picked up after the event ends / when arc iii begins. we are offering this for anyone who may not wish to integrate a new character when we are nearing the end of an arc, but this is not a ban on new characters by any means. it’s an option that is at your discretion to use ! you can start submitting these as of this post.
all new characters are subject to the normal rules we use for people applying for characters past their initial 3. you have to be active at the time you submit your app, meaning we’re looking for at least 3-4 replies per character within the previous 7 days. this goes for characters you placed on an extended reservation as well, we will deny applications if players have fallen below this line. extended reservations do not guarantee acceptance, only your activity does.

it’s been five decades since the whole of westeros descended upon king’s landing for a celebration of the peace treaty , and in true fashion the city has gone all out. almost as if they are celebrating more than a bunch of noblity coming to town... and it’s because they are.
every 50 years the known world is graced with the beautiful sight of the draconidis meteor shower. this historic shower was first seen weeks before the peace treaty was signed , the old tale claims it foretold a new era for westeros. the festival of draconidis is a grand affair , a celestial carnival with games , elaborate performers from around the world , contests + tournaments , and of course wine + ale galore. the city of king’s landing truly embraces the festival as many travel from all over the known world because king’s landing has always been the perfect place to view the meteor shower.
the festival lasts for five days , ending on the sixth with a large ball held outside during the meteor shower. there is nothing small about this celebration , each year better than the last.
alrighty so ! when we open on friday at 3 p.m. cst you are free to dive in and write any part of arriving in king’s landing ( you can write things for prior to the festival start if you like ) or any point of the festival in your threads. the festival will last ooc for two weeks , between july 22 ( 3 p.m. cst ) - aug 5 ( noon cst ). ic it lasts 5 days , the sixth being the ball.
the ball is not to be written yet , as that will be the pt. 2 to this little bit which will begin on aug 5 at noon cst.
a side note , unless otherwise stated you will always. be able to continue your threads from one event / time to the next. all festival threads can continue past aug 5 , but no new starters in regards to the festival can be posted.

if there is one thing the nobility is known for, it’s putting on a face and pretending all is well when it absolutely is not. while the host of westeros nobility awake to yet another day where they pray to whatever gods they believe in that today is the day they are finally freed, little golden envelopes are delivered are pristine trays to each family. what they hope is a farewell is anything but.

achara has never been the biggest fan of formal events, much less ones in the south. the lady of skyreach often picks a dress that embraces a more modest dornish style. the semi-sheer material billows yet shows off her figure while the intricate beadwork brings a bright addition much needed. the bodice of the dress has a more revealing cut within the beadwork, but it’s right within the lady’s comfort zone.
