Thanks to Lorenz of FE3H, I have come to the conclusion that if a fictional guy has a high ponytail like this
or has purple hair
I am gay
If I met an actual real life man with long purple hair, I might physically combust. I already know that when I see any person with purple hair, I am filled with an overwhelming sense of joy and elation, but a guy with long silky purple hair will probably kill me
Ondorus woke the next morning smiling from what he thought was nothing but a warm dream until the sleep fell off him like a shroud and he realized it hadnât been a dream. That the night heâd spent with Carlos was real, and warmth and dread spread through him in equal measure. He wished it didnât have to be like this. He wished he could have woken next to Carlos this morning with no guilt or fear; just love and comfort between them. He sighed, and rose from his bed, dressed quickly, and exited his tent, pouring into the heat of the desert. He hadnât realized how long heâd overslept until he looked around, seeing most of his comrades out and about, the sun high over their heads. He hoped his absence hadnât been noted too deeply. Tentatively, he made his way into the settlement.Â
He hadnât made it two steps from his tent when Zaid came up beside him, looking him over slowly.
âLong night?â he asked, and Ondorusâ throat squeezed tight.
âYou could say that,â he said, slowly. Zaid looked him over for a moment.
âAre you sure youâre okay? Youâve been really...twitchy.â
âIâm okay, Zaid. I promise,â Ondorus told him, rubbing his temples. At least he hadnât lied about the long night. Heâd lain awake in the afterglow for hours after returning home, not able to sleep.
âAre you sure?â Zaid pressed again. Ondorus smiled at him.
âAbsolutely sure.â
Zaid didnât say anything else, just nodded. They parted ways after a few comments about inane things, but Ondorus couldnât shake off the shame of lying the rest of the day.
When night fell, Ondorus slipped out quietly as always, looking behind him to make sure no one followed, and made his way to his and Carlosâ spot. He was already there, and any negative feelings melted away when Ondorus saw his face. It was like coming home, and he wondered when the settlement stopped feeling like home. This was where he belonged, right here with Carlos. They kissed as soon as they saw each other, warm and sweet, and Carlosâ arms closed around him like a warm blanket.Â
âMiss me?â Carlos asked, a cheeky smile on his face. Ondorus pretended to think about that, until Carlos shook his head and kissed him again.
âOf course I missed you,â Ondorus conceded. âI always miss you,â
âI know, bro, I miss you all the damn time.â
âAre you still going to refer to me as âbroâ after last night?â Ondorus laughed.
âYou prefer âdude?ââ Carlos shot back, a goofy smile on his face. Ondorus shook his head with mock disapproval, but the smile at the edges of his mouth gave him away.
They sat, holding hands as though they didnât want a moment to go by when they werenât touching. The rest of the night, they simply talked, telling each other about their day, laughing together about Zaidâs fight with one of the woolies in the settlementÂ
âWait,â Carlos said laughing, âlike the white fluffy ones? How do you even fight with those.â
âWoolies are surprisingly eloquent,â Ondorus said, and they dissolved into giggles again.Â
âAre they?â Carlos said after a long moment of companionable silence.
âAre they what?â
âWoolies. Are they eloquent?âÂ
âOh yes,â Ondorus said. âOne in particular, actually, has a very interesting point of view. He doesnât live in the Settlement, but he pops by.â
âThatâs cool man,â Carlos said, looking a little taken aback. âI guess itâs weird knowing they can communicate with you guys.â
âI suppose from your standpoint, it must be, but theyâre simply our comrades in the Settlement,â Ondorus explained.Â
âGotcha, bro,â Carlos said, easy as anything, and Ondorus felt a wave of affection wash over him. He wasnât sure why he kept thinking Carlos would have a breaking point, with how different they were, but he never seemed to.
They parted that night with a lingering kiss and the promise of tomorrow. Ondours made his way home, free of whatever worries he had had before. Within a few short hours, Carlos had melted away all of his fears, and that night he slept warmly, safely, and woke the next morning early and bright.
When he exited his tent, Zaid was there waiting for him. He looked white, and Ondorus felt his stomach drop into his toes.Â
âZaid? Whatâs the matter?â he asked, quietly.Â
âYou wouldnât lie to me, would you Ondorus?â Zaid asked, slowly, meaningfully.
âNo, Zaid, of course not.â
âThen why havenât you told me youâre consorting with a human?â Zaid accused, and Ondorus felt the blood drain from his face.
âYou followed me,â he said simply. Zaid looked away, pursing his lips.
âI shouldnât have had to, but youâve been so secretive. So I figured Iâd find out why and I see you...â he trailed off, shaking.Â
âHow much did you see?â
âDoes it matter?â Zaid snapped, turning back to him. âA human, Ondorus! How could you?â
âPlease tell me you didnât tell Kuruna,â Ondorus pleaded. This was bad. He imagined Kurunaâs face as Zaid told her what heâd seen. The disappointment, the anger.Â
âNo, but I should,â Zaid spat.Â
âPlease donât.â
âI wonât,â Zaid said. âI should but I wonât. As long as you never see him again.â Ondorus floundered for a response. Never see Carlos again? How could he? Not when heâd fallen so hard and so absolutely. But if Kuruna found out...
âOkay,â Ondorus whispered. âOkay.âÂ
Zaid nodded, and turned away.
âNow donât talk to me for a while,â he said coldly, and left. Ondorus turned back to his tent, hiding the tears that had quickly ran from his eyes.Â
âGoodbye Carlos,â he whispered to the winds. âGoodbye.
That night Carlos sat in the cold desert air, waiting for Ondorus. He stayed until the night grew long, and the sun rose from the horizon.Â

okay, here's a fun headcanon prompt: If all the rf3 dudes got in an all out brawl, how well would they each do and who would be the winner?? Don't forget: Carlos claims he can wield 18 fishing rods at once
Omg I love this -Rusk would be down first the kid eats nothing but sweets he is Softâ˘-Gaius would put up a good fight heâs strong but I canât imagine him holding attention to the fight he eventually takes a hit too hard and decides itâs time to go back to his forge-Zaid is scrappy but too over eager and ends up getting knocked out -after Zaid goes down Ondorus pulls him back home. he didnât really want to fight in the first place -Micah and Carlos are eventually the only two left standing and itâd be an intense fight until ultimately it gets too much like the scene in PokĂŠmon: The First Movie where pikachu is fighting his clone and they call a truce and hug it out-when asked who won they say friendship won-Zaid calls bullshit and says he put up the best fight so he won -Ondorus suggests that they never get drunk at the same time ever again
