#rey drabble

Summary: Once a scavenger, always a scavenger. Rey keeps accumulating spare parts and scrap metal. You find it cute but you don't know why she does that.

A/N: it's been a hot minute since the last time I wrote something, so this is a little warm up drabble and oh boy, I've lost practice. But anyway ways, hope you like this little thing.

Rey spent her whole life scavenging and saving spare parts on Jakku. Now on the Resistance she often did the same, unconsciously saving metal parts in her pockets. When helping fix the ships she would take the old and damaged components to her quarters, clean them and store them. “Just in case.” She always said.

Every time you visited her quarters you found yourself amazed and somehow concerned with the amount of scrap she kept. Hers looked even smaller than the usual Resistance ones that had only space for a small bed, a desk and some storage crates, however webs hang from the walls full of what seemed to be metal part, a capacitor here, a compressor over there, a few broken X-wing components and all kind of ship parts you didn’t even recognize.

Rey could easily assemble an engine with all that trash.

"So what is all of this, Rey?” you finally asked after months of wondering in your head why she kept all of that.

"Spare parts," she told you, her eyes stayed glued to whatever she was repairing.

"Yeah, but why do you keep them here?"

"Just in case."

"But this one's broken, Rey.” You chuckled while taking what looked like a burned comlink In your hands. “It's not useful anymore. Actually, most of this is useless.” You said looking around the scrap filled room.

"What are you talking about?” Rey finally turned around in her chair to face you, a surprised expression over her soft features. “Most of them could be fixed and even if not they are really valuable."

"But this?" you raised an eyebrow as you showed her the small device.

"If the transmitter it’s in good shape, could be worth at least a few rations…"

"But you don't need to do that anymore.” You cut her off, walking over her and carefully sitting over her lap. “You're with us now. You're with me, my love." you murmured gently caressing the side of her face. "You don't have to worry anymore."

Rey’s eyes seemed to shimmer with appreciation, fond of your touch and your words.

You were right and she knew it. Rey’s life had changed a lot since she joined the Resistance and since she met you. Sometimes she forgot she didn’t have to work her ass off all day to have something to eat, she forgot she had a new family of friends and that she wasn’t alone anymore.

"Sorry, it's just, in Jakku I used to look for this kind of things every day.” Rey said. A soft smile curved her lips only for a second. “I guess old habits die hard."

“Guess so.” you told her with a smile before stealing a quick kiss from her lips. “Sorry, old habit.” you playfully told her afterwards.

“Is that so?” Rey chuckled softly. “Is there any other ‘old habit’ you’d like to show me, my love?.” She asked, a teasing tone in her words and in her eyes.

“Maybe.” you said. “But those I’ll have to show you later, I have patrol duty this evening.”

“That’s a shame.” Rey said disappointed.

Then her eyes scanned the room filled with mechanical parts. “You know, you’re right, I should probably get rid of all that stuff.” She met your eye again, a grin over her lips. “Perhaps that’ll keep me busy until you return.”

“Sounds good to me.” you laughed.

Over her shoulder your eyes caught a strange piece of metal over Rey’s desk.

“What’s that?” curiously you asked.

“Oh, it’s just a thing I’ve been trying to fix but it’s a lost cause.” She sighed. ”I’ll throw it too, don’t worry.”

You reached for the small metal scrap and took a better look at it. Rey was right, it was definitely a lost cause, what once may have been a piece of gear or even an info disk was now deformed and burned. However, all that damage over the time created somehow a new form that resembled a flower.

Maybe not all the things Rey scavenged were bad or useless after all.

“Can I keep it?” you asked her, still holding the metal piece in your hands, admiring every little metal petal.

“Of course but didn’t you just tell me this was all trash? Why keeping that one?” She chuckled.

“Just in case.” you smiled and stood up, already on your way to the exit. With a wink you left the the room, leaving your laughing girlfriend behind.

🛏 : A sleeping headcanon

When you first share a bed with Rey, she makes herself so tiny and takes up so little space. She presses against the wall or is the small spoon, but as she becomes more comfortable in her surroundings and her relationship with you, she becomes a total bedhog and blankethog. She’ll starfish if you’re not there or make you the little spoon. She’s never had the luxury of taking up a lot of room, but that she’s comfortable enough to do so with you says a lot.

A/N: i debated between rey, poe and padmé but settled for rey. hope u like it!!

Poe looks up as he sees you peek your head around his X-wing, glancing around as he can tell you’re clearly looking for someone. He wipes his hands off on a towel, a teasing grin spreading across his face as he asks, “Looking for your girlfriend?”

“Yeah,” you respond, not fully listening, and Poe’s eyes widen. Leaning up against the ship, you ask, “Have you seen her, by the way? Rey?”

“I knew it!” Poe exclaims as he ignores your question, pumping his fist into the air. Your eyebrows furrow in confusion as he spins around just in time to see Finn approach, and he excitedly grabs Finn’s arm as he repeats, “I knew it!”

“Knew what?” you ask, shaking your head, completely lost as Finn mirrors your confusion. Poe grins, pointing at you as he looks as Finn.

“y/n and Rey are together.” Poe announces, and your jaw drops in shock as Finn looks at you, practically beaming. “Called it.”

“Hey, I knew they were together, too,” Finn points out, but you quickly interrupt, waving your hands.

“Hold on,” you let out a nervous chuckle. “I- Rey and I aren’t together.”

Poe and Finn exchange amused glances, before Poe says, “Come on, y/n, secret’s already out. I mean, I’m pretty sure half the Resistance knew already, but...”

“What?” you gape at your friends as Finn laughs. Looking around, you lower your voice as you whisper, “Wait, does everyone really think that? Why does everyone think we’re dating?”

Finn and Poe study your expression, unsure if you’re telling the truth or trying to maintain a secret. Finally, Finn slowly says, “It’s pretty obvious the two of you are like, in love with one another. Have you not noticed the way Rey looks at you? I’ve never seen her as happier than when she’s with you.”

You can feel your cheeks get hot upon hearing this. You’ve always known that you have feelings for Rey, but to hear that it might be reciprocated makes your heart dance in your chest. Your voice barely comes out as a whisper as you ask, “You really think she’s in love with me?”

“Yes!” Finn and Poe practically yell at you, and Poe reaches over to give you a playful shove. He laughs as your eyes widen, and he urges, “What are you standing around here for? Go get your girl!”

3) A breathy demand: “Kiss me” - and what the other person does to respond.

It’s been a shitty mission from the start, and if you were with anyone that isn’t Rey you think you would’ve just fallen over in the mud and died on the spot.

But you care far too much about Rey to worry her with your corpse, though, so you try your hardest to keep pace with her as the pair of you trek further into the dense jungle.

“This is terrible,” she sighs, pushing a stray strand of wispy brown hair out of her face. “How much further?”

You glance down at the little screen you’re carrying. “If the heat hasn’t fried the navicomputer... about seven miles.”

“You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“Trust me, I wish I was. Look, we’re not gonna make it before nightfall. It would be better to set up camp now and get settled before it gets too dark.”

Rey knows you’re right, and the relieved sigh she lets out tells you that she’s glad you made the suggestion. She drops her heavy pack on the driest piece of ground she can find and starts digging around in it for the hammocks. It’s best to sleep off the ground in this type of environment, especially since it’s a relatively uncharted planet and neither of you knows what kind of wildlife might roam the jungle after dark.

But apparently, the dangerous critters don’t wait until nightfall to come out, because you don’t have time to warn Rey about the biggest spider you’ve ever seen in your life.

Without even thinking, you draw your blaster and shoot the damned thing with startling precision.

Rey’s eyes are wide as she watches the huge, hairy creature drop to the ground at her feet.

“What the... how...”

You step closer to inspect it, just in time to see a second approaching. 

“Sorry,” you mutter as you pull your blaster and fire three shot into the belly of the beast right next to Rey’s head.

She flinches at the sudden noise, then whirls around in time to see the second spider fall from the tree branch it was perched on. 

“You just saved my life,” she tells you flatly, still reeling from the sudden invasion. “Twice.”

You just shrug as you reholster your blaster. “No problem, you’ve saved my ass more than once. We should probably take watch shifts tonight though, ‘cause I have no clue what else will pop up-”

“Kiss me,” she asks breathlessly. You have no clue what spurred this sudden shift in the mood, because she wasn’t really even that close to getting killed by those things, but you’re not about to complain about it.

You’ve been dying to kiss her since the moment you met, and as you take her face in your hands and meld your lips with hers, you regret waiting this long.

Rey Skywalker x Fem!Reader Drabble/Fic

Summary: Rey noticed something is off about you. She’s determined to get figure out what and make you feel better.

Each morning with Rey was always a good one. Your routine with her is always the same. Waking up around 5:30 am to the sound of your alarm. Then, embracing Rey in your arms as she slept, most likely tired from her training session the day before. After holding her in your arms for a while you’d get up and begin making breakfast for the two of you before getting ready for your day.

This morning was a bit different. You woke up to the sound of rustling in the kitchen. You checked the time to see it was way earlier than either one of you should be awake. You turned to wake Rey only to find her side of the bed empty. Her spot was still warm. You ran your hand over the warmth, not quite wanting to get out of bed but your curiosity got the best of you, making you roll out of bed and pad your way to the kitchen to investigate.

As you entered, you encountered your girlfriend packing different types of items into a backpack. Confusion arose within you. Rey noticed you standing in the hallway and exclaimed.

“Good morning, love! Did I wake you?” she asked in a tender voice. She walked towards you and held your hands in hers, your hands still warm, hers growing cold.

“Don’t worry about it, honey. What are you doing up so early?” you asked, slurring your words a bit, tiredness evident in your voice. Your eyes squinting a bit, adjusting to the bright lights in the kitchen.

“Oh! I was packing for a little hike I planned for us today!” Rey said excitedly. She swung your hands and beamed brightly.

“A hike? Baby, we have meetings to go to today,” you said gently, not wanting to bring down her mood. It was true though, the First Order had only grown stronger in the past weeks and Rey had been training nonstop, preparing for what is to come. You worked with information systems, you tracked the First Order’s every move and got information from informants that were brave enough. All that workload was hard to handle but you would do anything to restore peace to the galaxy. And as much as you would love to spend some time with the woman you love, you truly never had the time to do so.

Now she’s standing in front of you saying she has a hike planned. Your heart could explode with the love and adoration you had for Rey. She always did everything in her power to make sure you were happy, even when you assured her that she didn’t need to go out of her way to do so. But she always wanted to.

“No no no, baby don’t worry about all that today. I told General Organa we would be late today, she knows how hard we’ve been working so she gave us some time off,” she said. She has a soft smile etched on her lips. You can’t resist smashing your lips into hers. She giggles quietly against you and brings you closer, one hand on your waist, the other resting on your cheek. Your hands rest on her neck, playing with the few loose strands that fell out of her loose bun.

The kiss doesn’t last long but it feels like an eternity. The passion and love shared between you was enough to make it last a lifetime. You pulled away, your fingers still tangled up in her hair. You rested your forehead against hers, your eyes still closed, savoring the moment. When you were in Rey’s embrace, it felt like time was on hold. Nothing else mattered besides you and her. In her presence, you felt peace. Despite the hardships that were going on in the galaxy, you felt safest when you were with her.

After a few moments, Rey broke the silence. “So, are you ready for that hike?” she asked beaming at you. You couldn’t help break out in a huge grin. You nodded and turned towards the bedroom to get changed and then to the refresher to wash your face and brush your teeth.

When you stepped out, Rey was ready, the backpack strapped on her, and holding a coat out for you. Sh helped slip it on you and you both headed out towards the hiking trail that everyone used when they weren’t working. The sky was still dark, hues or purple emerging from the horizon ahead. The air was crisp and cold, causing Rey’s nose to turn a light pink after a while. You talked the whole way up, sharing stories and reminiscing the past. Rey always loved hearing about your home planet and cultural events that were held there. You promised to take her there when all of this was over. You couldn’t wait to share that big part of who you are with her.

Rey didn’t know much about her family so it was difficult for her to share much with you but you understood nonetheless. When you spoke about your family and home planet, Rey always had wide eyes and absorbed all the information you fed her. She was enthralled with you and your culture. It broke your heart knowing she never got to experience what you did, which is why you promised to take her to your planet to have her experience all the joy you did growing up.

You were nearing the top of the mountain and the sky was beginning to look lighter. You smiled to yourself, you loved watching the sunrise. Back on your home planet, you had a huge window in your room that overlooked the city below you. You often would wake up early just to watch the sun paint the sky in beautiful colors. It was your favorite thing in the whole galaxy.

You finally reach the top of the trail and your breath is almost taken away for a moment. You never realized how beautiful the planet was until that very moment. Overlooking the top is a beautiful forest. The sky above you was painting in hues of pink, yellow, and blue. Tall, green trees tickle the surface of the sky. Birds fly across the sky, chirping as a wake-up call. You could even spot the base where pilots were finally up and doing some routine maintenance on their x-wings. The air begins to warm up, no longer as crisp as it was before. You felt as if you were on top of the world.

You turned to look at Rey, but she was already looking back at you. Her eyes full adoration, a small smile evident on her face. She had been watching you the whole time, taking in your reaction at the beautiful scene before you. She planned this trip a week ago after finally getting clearance from General Organa. She always listened to you when you talked about life back on your home planet and she saw how much you missed watching the sunrise from your childhood home. The way your eyes lit up when you described the sunrises. Even the way your eyes turned glassy thinking of the memory.

She had noticed you had been homesick for a few days. You didn’t eat as much as you used to. You began taking too much work that you can handle. The stress kept building up. Rey couldn’t bare to see you overwork yourself like that. So she took matters into her own hands and planned this little hiking trip during the sunrise to cheer you. She wanted to see the light come back into your eyes.

She finally saw that light in your eyes again when you reached the top of the trail. She couldn’t help but admire the way you took the scene in. Your eyes were wide, mouth slightly agape. Your eyes roamed over the horizon, a soft smile etched on your face. She watched you admire the view. She knew this is exactly what you needed. It was a small taste of home away from home.

She broke the silence. “What do you think?” she asked tenderly. Although she knew this experience would be a positive one for you, she was still worried about your response. Her eyebrows were furrowed and her bottom lip was crushed between her teeth. She gently took your hand in hers.

Almost instantly your eyes swelled with hot tears. You tried to hold it in but the tears came spilling out of your eyes like a waterfall. You pulled Rey into a tight embrace, not wanting her to see you in that state, even though you were way beyond happy. Once you were in her arms, you let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding in. You felt all your worries within you just disintegrate as she held you in her arms. All the emotions you had held inside you just left in a fleeting motion. All that mattered was you and her on top of that mountain, overlooking the beautiful scenery of D’Qar.

No amount of words could describe the immense love you had for the woman in your arms. The fact that she did this just for you made your heart beat a thousand beats per minute. She had noticed your distant behavior and did everything she could give you a moment of relief. You pulled away from Rey, your eyes now glassy and red, nose a bit snotty. You sniffed and looked at the woman before you. Her own eyes had also become glassy, but she held in her tears for your sake. She used her thumbs to wipe away the tears that fell from your eyes.

You exhaled a breath and lifted one hand to meet hers that was resting on your cheek. You leaned into her hand and closed your eyes, taking in the moment, savoring it for as long as you could. You wished you could stay like that for an eternity. Just the two of you, savoring the fresh air and beautiful scenery. All you wanted was to live a domestic life with Rey once there was peace in the galaxy. With this moment, you could already see that this is what your future with her would look like. She brought hope for both of you.

Your head was tilted to the side ever so slightly, admiring the beautiful sight before you. The altar was entirely covered in jasmine, draping down with an ethereal glow of sunlight beaming behind it. The majority of the bridal party was standing at the sides, adorned in their best formal wear. Dark grey suits lined up behind Poe in his lighter grey with a mauve purple tie. It was so odd to see Poe this formal when you were used to him in greased up jeans and a casual t-shirt at best. He was definitely not the formal type, but he was obviously making an exception for this big day in his life. 

The look of anxiety etched between the crease of his brows was also endearing to you. Having known him for years you knew he was caught somewhere between excitement and anxiety. He had been looking forward to this day for months, to finally marry the love of his life but he was also nervous about screwing something up or the unpredictable possibilities. 

Suddenly your train of thought was cut short by a frantic curse and scurrying of someone beside you. Your eyes instantly darted over to see a young woman with cropped brown curly hair plop herself into the seat next to you with an almost exasperated sigh. The demeanor in which she landed in her seat was in stark contrast to how done-up she appeared. Between the nearly flawless pink lip she wore, the beautiful floral tea-length dress she had on and the well styled hair she moved out of her face, it seemed out of place. It only caused you to smirk though as she turned to you with an equally amused expression.

She sighed faintly before leaning over to whisper to you, “Made it just in time huh?”

You laughed ever so faintly, “Just about.”

Straightening posture she gave you a friendly smile in response, “I’m Rey by the way.”

“(Y/N).”

“Friend of the bride or groom?”

“Both.”

“Nice, I am too!”

Just before you could excitedly carry on conversation with Rey the music suddenly began. Rey made a subtle squeal as she turned to look behind your row before turning back to you.

17)  Tucking their hands beneath the other person’s shirt, just to watch them break the kiss and gasp in surprise at the sensation of cold/warm hands on their skin.

27) Kisses exchanged while one person sits on the other’s lap.

Rey does not enjoy the cold, even when the Resistance is depending on her to brave the winter of a far-off planet.

As such, you’re sent out into the snow while Rey remains behind in the Falcon, awaiting your return. It’s just a basic scan of the area, but you, Rey’s noble partner, had volunteered to spare her from the frigid climate.

When you climb up the Falcon’s ramp, Rey is there to help you strip from your coat. Wordlessly, you smile, unwrapping the scarf covering your mouth and nose, then remove your gloves and step closer to Rey. Before she can react, you lean in, your cold lips against her warm ones, and Rey gladly leans into the contact. It’s then, when she’s sufficiently distracted, that you wrap your arms around her waist, tucking them beneath her tunic and pressing your freezing hands against her bare skin.

“Y/n!” Rey gasps, springing back with shock in her eyes. You can’t help but smirk, even as her mouth drops open in surprise. 

“That wasn’t nice,” she grumbles, taking your offered hand reluctantly. Still, you give a chuckle as she leads you to the heater, sitting in a chair nearby and pulling you on top of her.

“I wanted to warm my hands up,” you explain patiently, and Rey raises her eyebrows.

“You made me cold,” she protests, but takes your hands in hers, rubbing them until feeling returns. In reward for her braving the cold, you kiss her, ensuring that your hands stay entangled in hers. Each time you try to break away, Rey leans up to kiss you again, keeping your firmly planted on her lap, peering over her and staying close.

“I’ll keep you warm now,” Rey promises, and you snuggle closer to her.

Rey awakes with a strangled scream, electricity burning her fingertips as she shoots upright in her bed. She gulps for air, her chest heaving as she feels as though the room is closing in on her. 

Tossing aside the thin blanket covering her body, she stumbles to her feet, making her way through the corridor of the Falcon before she makes her way to the cockpit. You look over your shoulder, and your eyes widen with concern as you can see the distress in Rey’s expression. Quickly putting the Falcon on autopilot, you rush to your feet, holding Rey’s face in your hands as you ask, “What’s wrong?”

“Chewie...” Rey starts to say, her voice trembling, and your stomach drops. You guide her to sit down, and she shakes her head as she continues, “I’m sorry, I— I just had a nightmare, and you were the first person I could think of.”

“That’s okay,” you gently reassure her. All of you are still grieving the loss of Chewie, but you know Rey carries the extra burden of having been the one to accidentally destroy his ship. It all happened so fast, the power, the anger — Rey can still see the unbridled lightning exploding from her hand, striking up into the sky, and the ship engulfing in flames. 

“I killed him, y/n,” Rey whispers, her voice trembling, and you let out a sigh as you shuffle closer to her, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “I—”

“It’s not your fault, Rey,” you insist, pulling her closer towards you, and tears blur Rey’s vision as she ferociously shakes her head, refusing to listen. “You couldn’t have known what was going to happen.”
