Wessex Dance Academy’s current cohort will perform Rewritten Pages on Tuesday 12 February 2013, 7pm, at The Lights in Andover.
Rewritten Pages, choreographed by Siobhan Maguire-Swartz and Robert Guy, was created to show the raw energy, physicality and talent of young people new to contemporary dance. It charts their journey into adulthood, the different paths and choices they can take and the pressures they face. This is their first performance together after only three weeks of dance training.
Robert Guy is currently Head Aerialist for Wired Aerial Theatre and has been choreographing and performing with them for the past 5 years. He has also performed works by Fillip Van Huffel, Henri Ougike and Stephen Petronio. Robert teaches and choreographs both nationally and internationally, with one of his most recent works for Dance United, Unwritten Pages, winning him the Koestler Platinum Award for Choreography.
Siobhan Maguire-Swartz is Academy Director for Dance United’s London Academy. She won alongside Robert Guy the Koestler Platinum Award for Choreography for Unwritten Pages. More recently, her work The Performance, choreographed with John Ross, received acclaim across London and featured in the Festival of the World, Celebrate the City Festival and the Olympic Torch Relay during the summer of 2012.
