Revolution Explosion || Cyclops and Rogue
"That’s seven of the most powerful mutants on the planet, so I don’t think the odds are that bad. But, if you’re dead set on letting the establishment win, then I guess I’ll get going. You have my number, if you change your mind. Then, he stood up, threw his empty cup away, and started towards the door.Â
That was when the building exploded.
Rogue frowned. Scott had an odd idea of the most powerful mutants on the planet. Her eyebrow rose when Scott started talking about letting the establishment win, and stood up abruptly. He hadn't actually understood that she wanted to work with him. Rogue was about to cross her arms and wait before following him. Her confused gaze followed the cup tossed into the trash bin and watched his head turn away from her.
And then there was a loud boom and Rogue was thrown sideways into the air. Her vision blurred and there was a roar of a fire. A second later, her body hit the wall and the air was knocked out of her. Gasping for air, Rogue tried to move, only to find her leg, arm, and left ribs in excruciating pain. She looked down at her body, finding a piece of wood lodged in her leg. Tiny pieces of metal were embedded into her left arm, and as Rogue reached with the other hand to her ribs, she pulled out a bloodied shard of glass.
Around her, people were already lying dead on the floor. Burning. There was fire all around. "Scott!" Rogue screamed, looking around. She found him stirring from the floor, and, to her relief, there were no large pieces of wood or glass sticking out of his back. His back had been facing the explosion, but she had been closer to the bomb.
