Party Banter p. 3
I need to stop. These has consumed my brain.
Davrin: Revassan?
Revassan: Yes?
Davrin: Something has been bothering me since our last conversation.
Revassan: You mean since the last time you accused me of something?
Davrin: Well… yes. But it was something you said. About the vallaslin. You mentioned Mythal, but you-
Revassan: Aren't wearing her markings? I am aware, thank you.
Davrin: Then what…?
Revassan: *deep, weary sigh* It's a wound I don't like poking. For now, let's just say that Mythal didn't like to… fail. To not get her way. And it was us, her subjects, that bore the brunt of her displeasure.
Davrin: Hm. I see.
Revassan: Maybe one day I'll tell you the story.
Davrin: Don't know whether to look forward to it or not, but no pressure.

Revassan & Ghilana: [deep discussion in ancient elven]
Emmrich: Do you understand them, Bellara?
Bellara: eh… bits and pieces. They talk very quickly, in a dialect I'm not used to. But I think they're talking about something that happened a long time ago. Something Davrin asked about. I think it rattled Revas.
Emmrich: Revas?
Bellara: Oh. He said he preferred I called him that. Said Revassan was someone he used to be and he didn't want to be that person anymore.
Emmrich: He hasn't told anyone else that, Bellara.
Bellara: Oh. Well. He's very kind, and quite funny. He reads for me in ancient elven, and tries to teach me recipes from Elvhenan.
Emmrich: *soft chuckle* You mean the young man who tears darkspawn in two with his hands?
Bellara: He's older than you, professor. But yes. He's promised to show me locations that've been forgotten.
Emmrich: It gladdens me that you're happy.
Bellara: Oh, I am. I really look forward to the excursions.
Emmrich: *wry smile* Of course, Bellara. I'm sure.
————
Ghilana: I heard Bellara mention some excursion to Arlathan.
Revassan: I promised to show her a couple of locations, yes.
Ghilana: *amused smile* Since when did you become a guide, Revas?
Revassan: I know that was your role, lethallan, but aren't we past what we used to be?
Ghilana: We are, ma vhenan. Maybe it is time to choose our own path.
Revassan: Then, when the time comes, I want to stay here. With her. If she'll have me.
Ghilana: Ma nuvenin.
————
Neve: So, Solas and Mythal.
Ghilana: What about them?
Neve: You were very quick to deny Taash's urging that they were, to use their words, doing it.
Ghilana: Was there a question there?
Neve: No. It was merely an observation. I know Esha has her reasons as to not want to believe it - not when he's in her head. But what is your reason, I wonder.
Ghilana: I knew them. They were not… eh, doing it. Solas had someone else.
Neve: *smirking* Yeah, I've figured as much. You.
Ghilana: What?
Neve: The Wolf's Heart, that's what the Caretaker referred to you as, when you arrived. I didn't quite understand it then, but now… Now it all makes sense.
Ghilana: It could have referred to Revas.
Neve: Nah. The General's Freedom? Bellara told me Revas means freedom - in-between all the other things she rambled about.
Ghilana: *sigh* Ma nuvenin. You are clever, detective. Or maybe I am not as secretive as I wish to be.
Neve: *chuckles* Oh, you're doing fine. I'm just a sucker for happiness.
Ghilana: Let's hope this has a happy ending, then.
Neve: Knowing Esha, I'm sure it will.
————
Rook: He talks about you, you know.
Ghilana: I'm sorry?
Rook: Solas. In my head. Not much, but the underlying meaning is there.
Ghilana: Oh?
Rook: I think you're the only one who's able to crawl under his skin.
Ghilana: I don't…?
Rook: It's a figure of speech. What I mean is, it's not often he mentions you directly - probably because he doesn't want you involved - but he's dropping hints.
Ghilana: *groans* Esha.
Rook: Sorry. It's just… He often mentions how everything he did was to protect people, that it was to punish the Evanuris. But when he talks? The words he doesn't say? Much of it was because he wanted to protect you, wasn't it?
Ghilana: …yes.
Rook: I know. Your secret’s safe with me.
