"I'm not going back to heaven so just fuck off." Jay says defensively from where he was in the park sitting on a bench eating half a sandwich someone had discarded earlier
Cal liked to walk. He'd been running for so long, he'd been on Earth longer than he'd been in Heaven. He'd spent a lot of the early days hiding, laying low, but anymore he got... restless. He'd rent a hotel room, on occasion- usually only when one of those rare nesting seasons hit- but more often than not, he would just... walk. Parks, cities, dirt roads in the middle of nowhere; it felt, if only for a short while, that his life was actually moving forward. Usually, everyone ignored him, humans going about their daily lives, assuming he was just another one of them.
When the man on the bench started talking, Cal glanced around, wondering who the man was talking to, but when he said 'Heaven', Cal almost tripped over his own feet in his surprise and the sudden wave of panic. He turned to face him, as the words actually sank in.
"Wh-what?" Cal couldn't help but ask. He should have run, everything in him was screaming to run. Now that he was actually paying attention, it was clear the man wasn't completely human. No, that wasn't quite right. Nephilim? No... similar but... no. "I-I'm not... I'm not affiliated with... upstairs."
