Finally, here’s my 2018 Valentine’s Day entry! I like to challenge myself with these contests, and that led to this year’s “theme:” ship two of the most aesthetically displeasing characters in a ~romantic storybook format.~ Forget Zero and X, these guys are the true power couple! (I mean, look at iX’s new armor. It’s awesome! I’m saying this with no irony!)

The story is loosely based on a a personal experience (more on that in another post,) and I had a lot of fun messing with the “book” layouts as opposed to comic layouts. The silhouette cameos in the movie theater are split-p‘s Rose, @shikai-the-storyteller‘s Monarch Monsoon, and @superellysan‘s pumpkin-themed sisters Autumn and Demeter. Thank you for letting me borrow them.

Geez, how many edgy clones do you have, X? I guess there’s something about shonen series that love making tons of them, isn’t there?

Well, it just gives me something of a neat challenge at least in the Mega Man series to come up with a unique hairstyle for them.

So here’s rough tries at X-Kai and Return X (or iX same thing). I’ve tried doing iX before, but I just couldn’t get that ugly, messy look I wanted so I settled.
