I have not been personally hurt by the HCO. I don't have a story. But I do admire the people who have come forward and who are working to make a change. An administration cannot force honor, but the students can choose it. Today we choose love, honor, second chances, and accountability. We choose the Honor Code and to truly be honorable by standing up for what we believe in instead of sitting by and watching. I believe in and live the Honor Code and I do not regret that. Excessive punishment only promotes disobedience in secret. By making this University a safe place, a place where repentance is possible and where true honor is more important that whether or not you have a beard, we allow a truly honorable community to thrive. Those who are going to break the honor code are going to do it no matter what.
