The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang and the National Weather Service predict a hot and humid week ahead with the possibility of stray showers here and there. Expects temperatures to top out in the low to mid 90s most days. Fortunately, we may cool off a bit later this week, but it'll start Monday with mostly sunny skies and highs near 94 degrees in the region. The heat index may soar to 101, and an isolated shower or thunderstorm may pop up in the afternoon. Tuesday should be much of the same temperature-wise, with an even higher risk of showers and thunderstorms (about 40 percent compared to 20 percent on Monday). RESTON, VA -- A huge new development on the 22-acre Sunrise Technology Park could be coming soon, according to a report. The Commercial Observer reports that the Fairfax County Planning Commission has approved a proposal for a data center project at the site. The proposal was put forward by CoreSite Realty, and the commission signed off on it June 28. There will be a final hearing on July 31. CoreSite Realty purchased the property from Brookfield Office Properties for $60 million back in August 2016, according to reports. Currently there are four office buildings at the site. Reports have surfaced that a huge development is moving on forward soon, according to the Commercial Observer. The 22 acre Sunrise Technology Park has been given the approval for its proposal of a data center project. The brains behind the proposal are CoreSite reality, which purchased the property from Brookfield Office Properties for $60 million back in August 2016. Currently, there are four buildings on the said site. The said company would repurpose some of the buildings and destroy the others. Once they are fully done with the build out, CoreSite will operate over a million square feet of data center collocation space. It would cater to the demand of networks and cloud service providers who are looking to expand and cut back on costs.

The Reston Museum was founded way back in 1997. It offers exhibits, tours, workshops and public events. They also sell original art, crafts and signature items. Tornado Throws Shipping Container 100 Yards Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- The National Weather Service has confirmed reports that a tornado touched down in Fairfax County early Tuesday morning, and they say it threw a shipping container 100 yards near a school. NWS says that a weak tornado rated EF-0 with estimated maximum wind speeds of 70 miles per hour touched down at 5:54 a.m. at Thomas Jefferson High School in Lincolnia. Read more here
