He sat by the fire, a blanket around his shoulders. She had saved him, saved him from certain death but it hadn't been soon enough. His eye - Gone. He believed his life to be over from this point. He was no longer the rugged and handsome Merc he always wanted to be. There was no way he would be able to use his 10mm any-more not with a missing eye. Even he knew what that did to a persons shot.

She was tossing the bodies on the fire and he was watching them burn, the people that had been making his life a living hell for the past two years. They had held him down in their dungeon like basement for what felt like an eternity. But here she was; His saviour. This is where he would normally thank someone. But he didn't even know how much he could trust her, Yes he had been saved by her but then again the others had done the same with a Deathclaw.

"Why" He said plain and simple. "Why did you help me?"

The 'Why?' card has been drawn. For the longest time she didn't reply, her eye fixated on the burning bodies with an almost lifeless expression. There was definitely something there, but not remorse. The 'Why' always froze her, sometimes she doesn't even know why she puts herself at risk just for the sake of others. It just wasn't out of her own altruism; something else always pulled her in to help.

Without moving her head, the steely green glare was now towards him. All the tension in her muscles relaxed, her fingers flexing to release irritation. Rheshu sat down, slouching with elbows resting on her knees. They met eye to eye and she could already tell Tobias was devastated about the eye loss. Rheshu used to be the same way, after all.

"Instinct." The response was plain and simple, too.

"Those Cannibals would've grew fat on you if I wasn't around at the time. I... can't ignore screams like that." She shook her head.

He tugged the blanket around his shoulders as he watched her continue to work, She was stoic and didn’t speak much. That was find for the shaken kid; He had been through so much already having someone try and strike up a conversation and get him to speak while Anxiety gripped his words and breathing would have been nigh impossible. 

“Instinct, Huh?” He mimicked. “Wish I had that kind of instinct. Would’a known ta steer clear of these loons... The-” He shook his head when she mentioned fattening up and wiped his nose against the scratchy blanket as the fire roared and cooked their dinner. A couple of Iguana’s on sticks softly roasting by the fire. He wanted to say what had happened. He wanted to get it all off his chest, But he was too proud. Too scared. Too worried someone would judge him for what he had seen and almost become.
