The Left Hand of Darkness is a science fiction novel by Ursula K. Le Guin, published in 1969. The novel was immensely popular; in 1970. It was given to me by Tom Burtonwood by core studio instructor. I was given this book after a conversion about my previous work, were Tom and I ended up discussing the world of science fiction because it was relative to the work I create. After being flabbergasted that I have never read or heard of Ursula K. Le Guin told suggested that I take a look at her work because she was a classic and I should work my way up from there. I have not started the book but I decided to include it in my source material blog because I feel like inside of that conversion I discovered something about my work, something that I should have been paying attention to before. And that by following that thought process I can get back into the flow of creating things with this and the genre’s influence.
