Mihr should’ve felt relieved. His brother was home safe, after all this time away, after everything that happened. Fighting in a war behind their backs, being abducted by angels, returning home somehow. Sytry had been through so much, but now he was finally safe where he belonged. He wante,d nothing more than to spend time with his brother. He wanted to make him feel comforted, he wanted to share the things he’d missed with him. He wanted to introduce him to his wife and Sidonai. He wanted to chat with him over tea like they used to do.
But any time he approached him, something always seemed....off.
Sytry seemed more subdued. He was brash and distant. His soft smiles gave the impression that he was alright, but his eyes told another story. Mihr could only wonder what had happened during his captivity. He wanted nothing more than to help his brother. But he was rejected time after time, shut out like a door was slammed in his face.
Not today. Mihr was going to speak to him honestly. He was going to get answers. He was going to save his brother.
Noticing the prince from down the hall, Mihr trotted over to approach him, offering a wide smile. “Sytry, there you are. Are you doing alright? Mother says you still haven’t met Asulah yet. I know she’s been eager to meet you. Why don’t we go together?”
