Ultra Magnus rarely is the first to initiate physical contact, but when he does it is a sign that he trusts you. The longer he maintains the contact, whether he realizes it or not, the most he places his trust in the mecha in question. Generally, the contact is restricted to simple shoulder touches, but that's more than Ultra Magnus allowed himself for a majority of the Golden Age.

Ultra Magnus is not one for long, stumbling soliloquies, so generally he doesn't profess how much he trusts another; he lets his actions speak for him. However, if it is necessary, he will verbally back up what he has attempted to stress without words by simply stating so: "I trust you."

» [text — unknown]      During an emergency, I am usually the one      that most call for. If I were to make such       comms, however, I would first comm my       superior officer, if there is one, then a      medic, and finally a team for back-up. As       of now, back-up would consist of Wheeljack       and Bulkhead, a medic as Knock Out or       Ratchet, and as I am currently lacking a       superior officer, I would simply notify      those who would be impacted most by the      emergency.

Ultra Magnus is usually one to keep his E.M. field close to his frame, but if he is around someone he trusts, he allows it to extend and brush against the other mecha's. Generally it is kept back as a sign of respect for another's privacy, which will be foregone if the other shows that they are as comfortable with his presence as he is with them.
