it was fucking ridiculous really.
she didn’t care. she didn’t. no way, not really.
except, the more she TOLD herself she didn’t care, the more she thought about it and clearly the fact her mother was gone was an issue. she was an addict, and had disappeared before - but never for as long as this. getting in touch with her father was difficult when she barely knew where to start, or who he was. so there she was. just by herself. well, she was 21. people younger than her had been made to deal with worse things. she could COPE.
except she was locked out the house, had no shoes or money on her, and was maybe a little drunk. nah, scratch that. the COLD had sobered her up. she wanted to scream, but that would only draw attention to herself - and only a loserwould do that. she was strong, she’d work around it. she could lockpick if it came to it, but whilst she was a little sober now, her hands were currently shaking. she’d WALK. that’s what she’d do - her barefeet may hurt a little, but she could find a park, sit there a while. something like that. so she walked, until something - no someone caught her eye.
“what’re you STARING at? don’t you know BAREFOOT is all the rage right now? it’s just so natural and freeing.” she muttered, willing herself not to be embarrassed.
