I headcanon Harper as an Earth pony whose special talent is tattooing. Her ex Dirk is a Pegasus who would fly away from her to the clouds where she couldn’t follow whenever he needed space from her. After that, she vowed to never date another Pegasus again. She is a distant cousin from Applejack and has naturally strong hind legs for kicking (in addition to the natural strength all Earth ponies have). She owns a tattoo parlour.

Would be fascinated by social media after realization and be eager to join.

I can see her with an Instagram, TikTok, and maybe a Twitter.

She would have a business Instagram and TikTok for her tattoo business where she posts her final pieces and designs. This is also where she goes viral for giving away free wedding band tattoos for couples looking to commit.

She would also have a personal Instagram where she follows the other dateables, you (unless she hates you), and other new human friends she made during her travels and tattoo apprenticeship. She would post selfies, pictures of her travels, personal artwork, cute OOTD and gym pictures, and, if you’re together, lots and lots of pictures of the two of you. If she’s single, then she’d probably post more pictures of herself in hopes of making you and Dirkie jealous out of what you two missed out on.

User might be something girly and cute, like luvly.harper or if she wants to be very literal harper.hamper. But then she might have to explain to new friends what the meaning behind hamper in her user is. 🤔

Then lastly, maybe a secret anonymous Twitter where she goes to vent and rant because I know that girl has a lot to say. She could just do it in a notes app on her phone or an old fashioned diary, but I think she also craves validation from strangers who agree with her. She’d vent about her relationship and life problems and how much she misses her late almost fiancé.

If you are in a healthy relationship and encourage her to go to therapy, she will eventually stop using this account.

I think the game implies her tattoos are kinda mid… So her tattoo IG and TikTok wouldn’t have many followers.

One day, she casually shows her face in a video (it wasn’t even the focus of the video) and comments flood her comment section gushing about how surprised they are that’s what she looks like, how pretty she is, and how she should post more of herself. She’ll blush and eagerly read every single comment, kicking her feet in bed.

Eventually she’ll also occasionally participate in TikTok trends to promote her tattoos. She’s also steadily improving in her art and tattoo skills. Business is finally growing! Then she does her free tattoo promotion which goes viral and gets her national attention… The rest is history.

If you’re together with Harper, she would love watching cute relationship TikToks and would probably ask you to participate in them with her. Like the current trend with the song Made In Japan by Buck Owens that goes “The beauty of her face was beyond my wildest dreams” and you show off a picture of your girl. She’ll give you puppy eyes and ask you to make a special post about her. Even if you only post about one special interest (like an account solely to post your card collection), or you have a blank no posts social media account to only lurk, she will ask you to make an exception for her. If you don’t use social media at all, then she’ll ask if she can make the post on her personal IG account and pretend it’s like you posted it.

If you’re a dude or masc, beware because I can also see Harper stumbling across and then going down a rabbit hole of “How to train your man 101” TikToks and then being thoroughly convinced she needs to train you like a damn dog LMAO. She would EAT all those types of videos up.

If she’s single, she’ll probably still watch these relationship trends but get all sad and bitter afterwards. She’d imagine herself in the videos with Chappy, Dirk, and maybe even you (depending on if you friend zoned her or got a hate ending).

Even if she desperately wants to be in a relationship again, she would be wary of trying online dating. There are way too many people looking for only casual flings and she’s looking for COMMITMENT. Plus, she doesn’t like the idea of her potential partner also talking to and considering other people at the same time as her on the dating app. She wants someone who is only thinking of her from the very start.

Loves to send and receive cute pictures and videos with “this is us” and “you and me” messages.

Very easy to ragebait lol. She will be seething on her phone and fighting with trolls and haters on the internet. Part of it is because of her hot headed personality, the other because she doesn’t know better (give her a break guys she was a hamper for most of her life!) Very bothered queen. A chalant bitch.

I think one of her guilty pleasures is reading relationship AITAs reposted on TikTok and IG. You should probably best try and discourage her from doing this because it gets her too worked up and raises her blood pressure. She doesn’t realize yet that people will make up the most outrageous stories to farm engagement and views, believing them all to be real stories.

Glad to hear you like Dirk. Me too! The kind of fondness I have for Dirk is more teasing and mean compared to Harper. I like to dog on that musty boy because it’s funny. I also think he’s very cute. Her lines about getting her “fairytale ending” and feeling “empty” without someone by her side/inside her makes me awww too. Deep down, I know she’s just lonely and insecure (even though she acts confident outwardly) and wants to find her special someone to make her feel whole and loved. I think some people interpret her as just wanting someone, anyone, to be her loyal lapdog that she can hold on a tight leash to validate her and selfishly do whatever she wants. Maybe they’re valid. But because I’m biased towards Harper and she reminds me of all the other lonely pathetic clingy anxious attachment yearning characters I tend to like, I refuse to think of Harper like that. 🥺 Maybe I’m just self projecting too, but I want to believe Harper just desperately wants to find her true love and get her dream “fairytale ending” she longs for like a naive young girl. She wants to find true love. And what’s so wrong with that 😭😭😭

I just KNOW she was over the moon when she first got together with Chappy. She probably saw him as her dreamy prince that she had always been wishing for. I headcanon that he was her first love and first everything, and she fell HARD. Although it could also be interpreted that she had a lover/lovers before Chappy, but he was the first one that treated her RIGHT. For the first time, it felt like she had found her true love. And maybe he very well could’ve been her perfect happily ever after, if not for his tragic demise. And now she can’t help but “sink her claws into anyone else who’ll tolerate her for longer than 5 minutes” (thanks for the great description Dirkie 😕) because she’s scared to let another loved one slip through her fingers because she partially blames herself for what happened to Chappy.

A lot of people refer to Chappy as her ex, but I prefer to use the term late boyfriend. I feel like ex usually implies they broke up for reasons like incompatibility, but Harper and Chappy didn’t separate by choice. He will always remain her boyfriend in some sort of way. I get salty when I see signs of Harper not completely getting over Dirk in her realization endings (kinda ironic because now I’m in Dirk’s shoes), but, unlike Dirk, I don’t think I could bring myself to get upset when Harper brings up Chappy. I think I would just help her grieve and I would still try to honour him in our relationship in some way. Like celebrating his birthday (do objects even have birthdays…) with Harper or making a small grave in the backyard (symbolic grave because we unfortunately don’t have Chappy’s “body” to bury) or organizing an intimate informal at home funeral ceremony just for Harper. I don’t expect her to fully forget about him.

To the person who said Chappy got himself washed and melted on purpose to escape Harper and get sweet release, I’M COMING FOR YOU. But also you’re hilarious for that.

Not trying to erase her eccentricities with all that talk about her sad past. Okay yeah, she’s a little crazy and unhinged. But that makes her such a fun and interesting character!! Have a little bit of spice in your life, people! Her making a “travel sized Harper doll” that she expects Dirk to carry around when he’s away from her is hilarious and also so cute. Kinda random, but I think if Harper was a gem (Steven Universe), she would probably aspire to become someone like Garnet, permanently fused together with her beloved so they can always be together. She would panic when they’re forced to separate and she’s on her own. She also reminds me of Pearl when Pearl lied and manipulated Garnet into fusing with her over and over because she badly wanted to continue feeling what it’s like to be apart of a “perfect secure relationship”, to experience the true love that Ruby and Sapphire have for each other… Love that Pearl didn’t have but yearned to feel… Love that Harper lost and yearns to feel again…

Someone should draw gem Harper (and Dirk?)!! Not me though because I got too many other ideas I want to draw first.

I think I would happily fuse together with Harper. Two insecure losers who become one giant woman to complete each other. Anxious when alone, at peace together.

I know I sometimes joke about being in a toxic yuri relationship with Harper, but I am also choosing to believe it’s possible to have a healthy and happy relationship with Harper! CALL ME DELUSIONAL IF YOU WANT. She just needs someone who is patient, affectionate, empathetic, and who encourages her therapy sessions and prioritizes her. Someone who doesn’t fight back and raise their voice and instead gently grounds her and gives her support when she’s lashing out.
