This past week I had the chance to work with my co-interns! Ms. Issay Nodalo gave us a task, which is to research on the current and past slogans of each country in the world. It was a bit frustrating at first since the countries assigned to me were African countries. Some of their countries didn’t have slogans nor logos. After presenting the result of our research, another task was given to us which is to group countries by their slogans. We came up with 7-8 categories and placed 144 countries in different areas. After this, we presented again and did a SWOT analysis of the Philippines. It was such a cool experience, to brainstorm and throw around ideas. It felt like we were really part of Aspac and we weren’t just interns. It also gave me the chance to bond with the other interns and chika with Aspac’s start team, Ms. Issay, Ms. Fay Ballo and Sir Rey Leuterio. Only two weeks left and I’ll surely miss this!

This week I was able to tag along with Sir Kri Alimario and Sir Emman Yu to one of their interviews with a brand ambassador. The ambassador is the owner of a 3D eyebrow tattooing boutique in Greenbelt. It was such a fun experience since I was able to participate in the interview by asking questions to the client. I didn't feel like an intern at all! It felt like I was part of Sir Kri and Sir Emman's team. Though I didn't ask much, but to be able to work with my mentors is such a fulfilling experience. It felt like this is it, I'm slowly starting to feel like an adult (well somehow, not there yet but baby steps!) I knew my papa's advice would come in handy someday. Growing up, he always reminded me to never be shy to ask questions. Always be curious as long as it's in the right place and the right time. Looking forward to the next few weeks to come!

This week I got a chance to see how Account Managers present an ad at the ASC. Although I’ve been to presentations before, this time was quite different. The other times I went there, it was only to present minor revisions/changes for the ad. Presenting a new ad was slightly different because everything was discussed, from minor details such as the font used, to the main subject like why this particular picture was chosen for the ad. This week my mentor Sir Kri Alimario also mentioned that in ad agencies, everything needs to be fast paced. Time is important, just like in every other company. The more work done in a day, the better.

Today marks the first week since I started my internship in Aspac. During my first day, I was honestly so nervous. I didn't know anyone and I had no clue on what tasks they would assign me to. But thanks to my mentors, Sir Kri Alimario and Ms. Sarah Bhagwani. They made all my worries go away. They're friendly and are set to teach me on how the Advertising world works. This week they taught me how to do a competitive scan and the steps/procedure before and after presenting an Ad in the ASC. Here's to new beginnings!
