Climate change is more than simple couple degrees increase in global temperatures and rising sea levels. Riding temperatures is causing unprecedented amount of glacial melting which increases global sea level and threaten to flood low lying coastal cities worldwide. The increase in global temperatures will also increase he strength and severity of natural weather events such as tornadoes and thunderstorms. Homes and properties around the world will be damaged and destroyed in excess of billions of dollars, and countless human lives will be lost in the process. Millions of innocent people will be displaced from their homes and forced to moves to a safer location in a mass migration. The increase in temperatures will also along disease carriers such as mosquitos and ticks to migrate to places where they were previously too cold to survive in. In addition, the melting of glacial ice will uncover countless bacteria and viruses that predates modern humans and allow them to spread again. Because these pathogens are from hundreds, even thousands of years ago, humans and other species will not have natural immunity to them. This will cause a spike in global epidemics and pandemics and the death toll will be catastrophic. In short, climate change is not a simple issue. It will not go away if we dismiss its severity. It is a national security issue, and in a sense, a global security and safety issue. Because natural disasters and infectious diseases knows no man made geographical boundaries. No walls or barriers will stop them. Every major nations on this planet should be vested in taking climate change seriously and meet it with the kind of urgency and seriousness as the threat of nuclear war or the Nazi actions during WWII. To this dismiss it as a hoax and fake news, as the current US president has done, is extremely foolish and irresponsible. By not taken the issue of climate change seriously, this president has demonstrated his lack of knowledge, empathy, and foresight to the issues facing the US and the American people. In short, Trump has shown that he is incapable of leading the nation, and carrying out the duties of the office of the President of the United States.
