20 years later, I'm going back to Ground Zero. I haven't been able to bring myself there, not once, since that horrific day when I was a 5th-year Rabbinical student at @jtsvoice. I'm still not ready. But building a world from love demands facing the broken places and taking part in the (re)building. Today, @ujafedny is doing real good for our community, and paying homage to all the souls we lost. As a central part of my return today, I carry in my heart my sister, Rabbi Yonina Creditor, now a Lieutenant (about to become Lieutenant Commander) in the @usnavy, a #Chaplain who tends to the souls of many. 20 years ago, she was an first responder, a #NewYorkCity EMT, who ran to #GroundZero and stayed there for days on end, helping in every way she could. I return to this scarred, hallowed ground for the first time in 20 years, very much in her shadow. #HonorWithAction #RememberAndDoNotForget #september 11 #September11 https://www.instagram.com/p/CTuNdGCLfDS/?utm_medium=tumblr
