the only real contribution i can make to the great krusie renaissance rn is that like. ralsei absolutely knows. for a variety of reasons but the one that is currently getting to me is this dialogue for kris and susie riding the ferris wheel together in chapter 5.
Yeah... Ralsei told me... I should ride with you, y'know?
now, you could read this as kralsei which it absolutely still is. however, i think this is also about ralsei's sense of responsibility as a friend and him learning more about kris as a person.
they ask kris to get susie ice cream to make sure that she is taken care of, even when ralsei can't do it themself. ice cream (any sweet thing really) is something ralsei knows susie would want. moreover, susie is evidently on a very low income, and can't typically buy nice things for herself.
so. ralsei asks kris to do something that susie and ralsei are prevented from doing by their circumstances.
ralsei asks susie to ride the ferris wheel with kris.
the circumstances for ralsei not being able to ride the wheel are clear, but kris arguably has a multitude of things working against them for the entire festival:
noelle has a crush on susie and has been open with kris about this
susie is developing a crush on noelle and has been semi-open about this with kris
the player (-> ♥️ ) is aware of these two things and will likely choose whatever options satisfy these two characters
the game/susie and noelle will only let you interact with the ferris wheel, hammer tester, and king and queen vote a single time
no matter what, on normal route, the beach scene will play out as it does
no matter what, the teacups - something only kris and susie (and ralsei) have fond memories about - cannot be ridden
what is also worth noting is that as long as you ask ralsei how he's doing in chapter 3, even if you don't agree to his request, kris will tell susie about it in the ice cream scene. and the ice cream scene is mandatory.
in contrast, susie will only bring up ralsei asking her to ride the ferris wheel with kris if you (♥️) choose to ride with her.
to put it bluntly - kris riding the ferris wheel with susie should not happen.
ralsei is insistent in chapter 2 that we watch susie and noelle ride the ferris wheel, and grows concerned if this scene is skipped in the weird route. susie and noelle are fated to be together. if everything is going according to plan, susie and noelle will ride the ferris wheel together in the light world too...
...but ralsei asks susie to ride the ferris wheel with kris anyway.
