Still seeing a lot of talk about what Elder Scrolls games should or shouldn't be remastered in a post Oblivion 2025 world, so I thought I'd thrown in my two Septims. It's been a while since Rels rambled.
My joke answer is Skyrim, partly because my hot take I do think that the NPCs have always looked worse than Oblivion (2006) and the different races could benefit from more distinct appearances and more unique voice types. But mostly because I want to watch the ensuing chaos of seeing Skyrim re-released for the umpteenth time.
My honest to goodness serious answer however is Battlespire. I don't need a fancy lick of Unreal paint or anything like that, I want to see it done in the style of Daggerfall Unity or a Nightdive remaster. Same old graphics, same old feel, no more gremlins. I want to be able to die without the game immediately booting out to the DOS prompt. I want to be able to load without the game adding junk data until my saves corrupt.
Battlespire is my least favourite Elder Scrolls game, but I feel like some of my biggest of my problems could be solved with a new port, official or fan made. Despite it frustrating me so, the game has a lot of charm to it, and I'd love to experience it in a more stable form some day.
