all at once ( and without intending for them to do so ) a rolodex of memories flipped through her mind at rapid speed āāāāā happy, sad, disruptive, mutually violent. here, there, home, and away. there were flashing lights and powerful basslines. nights of pitch black and whispers into the morning sun. moans of surprise ecstasy and the sound of fists pounding on hotel room doors, an argument having gone too far resulting in the neighboring occupant calling security. falling asleep to the sound of tires on wet asphalt as rain fell in droves from above, being wide awake and in awe as snowflakes swirled round and round.
on and on and on they went, images of a lifetime in which anything that could be found would be found āā save for one thing ... a blank spot. nothing was missing or missed out on. no mistakes were avoided, no heartbreaks skipped.
so yes, they had already done this, just as they had already done everything else. a blessing and a curse, but most importantly ; an annoyance made even more annoying as the need to bring it up at all was hardly necessary.
