Speaking personally now, as an acknowledged self-made success story, having myself come up from an incredibly poor, abusive and challenged childhood, and a #MeToo -survivor to boot, reading this about the unmovable, self-made successful die-hard core base of Trump supporters, made me wonder why I'm so different than they in their politics? They are overwhelmingly white (me too) male (me too) and no college (BINGO!). Having actually gone to and completed college (personal choice) thanks to the GI Bill earned from my USAF stint during the Vietnam Era, earning two Masters Degrees in the end, must be the difference. Ignorance is NOT bliss. #IgnoranceIsAChoice . A lifelong pursuit of formal education , available now for little to no cost thanks to the internet (if you know where to look, which is also learnable #ReliableSourcesMatter) the active pursuit of knowledge puts us on the shoulders of those who came before, and enables us to see and learn how to be better, based on what they saw and learned before us.
