Gisele Bundchen, perfectly relaxed waves.

Have ever looked at Giselle Bundchen and just wondered, “how does she get those perfect waves to her hair”? I know that I have many, many times. It seems like no matter what I try I just cannot get those perfectly relaxed, sexy curls! Very frustrating. Argggg.

That is until now! I ran across my stylist from years and years ago. Retired to become a baker (who knows why). I happened to have fallen into a conversation about these perfectly impossible curls and he gave me the answer to the style. Not hard at all…just needed to inside scoop.

First and foremost, you have to have wavy hair, not super curly, not straight. He explained these curls truly only work if your hair’s natural texture is wavy. Once you have the texture thing down, you start at the roots. When out of the shower he suggested you blot the roots. You want to take out as much of the humidity at the root as possible in order to get that almost straight look at the root without frizz.

Once you have blotted your hair with a towel, apply styling cream from the roots to the ends. This is best done with finger tips, not entire hand. You do NOT want to brush the hair; simply run your fingers through it as to encourage the formation of the relaxed wave. To finish off the roots gently use the blow-dryer on medium heat, only on the roots! Do not shake, do not brush just let the heat the roots which you have previously applied styling cream to with your fingers.

Once the roots are dry, you gather the rest of the hair, twist it, and make a loose chignon (fancy way to say loose bun) on the top of your head. Secure the chignon with a butterfly clip. At this point you can go about your business. Do housework, read a good book, sift through Vogue, watch a movie. Basically forget about your hair for a while.

Once your hair is 100% dry, and do make sure it is completely dry, you can let your hair loose. Gently shake it out and smooth out with either shine serum or pomade. Once again, no NOT brush it, do not touch it with a comb or brush! Simply shake it out with your fingers. This prevents frizz or the hair becoming really big.
