I don’t think so. I’m not sure. I’m still really on the fence if I want to rejoin the South Park fandom and write for it. The South Park fandom, as a whole, isn’t very… it’s not really a community I enjoy being in tbh. I very rarely get any notice for the things I write for Creek (or any South Park pairing honestly), and any comments/reviews I get are very rare! It’s most of the reason I stopped writing for it in the first place, unfortunately. :(

You are by far one of the best JohnLock writers in the universe. Best of Three is so amazing, I re-read it time and again. I can't wait to read your FreeBatch. Keep it up!

I think you’re talking about this post, and thank you for saying so. I really agree. I think it’s important that we all remember that we aren’t a monolith, and don’t always speak the same language, and who would really want us to? Isn’t it nice how different we all are? Even those of us with roughly similar views and hopes for the story don’t process and hope and express ourselves in the same way.

On the other hand, I wanted to publish this because while I very much share your frustration about the anti-intellectualism of it all, I just wanted to question the use of words like (and I apologize a million times over if you meant this to be private!!, but…) “ridiculous witch hunt”, “drama-fueled lynch-mob” and “teenage ringleaders”. Let’s all just start with more neutral language that respects the fact that we don’t all agree, we’re not all the same age, we have different groups of people we follow, and etc. That is the beauty of this forum — how open it is, and the fact that we can all customize our experience.

I mean, even with perfect understanding, I think it’s perfectly ok to have been put off by Mid0nz’s meta that kicked it all this off (or anything else for that matter), but the assumption of bad faith, viciousness and aggression on her part is a place I wouldn’t want to go, personally, and I think there are a lot of people taking someone else’s word for what her intentions were.

I mean, If you don’t agree with something and you want to engage it, do it in good faith. If you don’t understand something and want to engage it, figure it out first — you might not be so angry if you do. There are LOADS of things that come across my dash that I am not down with, and that are published by all manner of people of all different ages. If I disagree and choose to engage something, I try to do it respectfully. If something just bugs the shit out of me, I make sure I don’t see it anymore. What I don’t get is engaging it at all, if all you’re doing is raging and bitching. Why all the hatefulness? Just tune it out.

And seriously, protesting against intellectual approaches to art as “elitist” is so unfortunate. So Sarah Palin. So not a world I want to live in.
