Pretty sure it was more so to imitate humans as the androids do. For all we know she could have been hacking his system like A2 did at the end of Ending c.

^ if it's meant to imitate humans, i wouldn't be surprised if a lot of their main circuits were located in the neck. B2 crushing another androids neck might be very similar to a human breaking their neck and dying? or it immobilizes him so he can be transported to the bunker without too much fuss. B2 may not be a good hacker since she's more combat orientated & has to physically incapacitate 9S as a result

since i made the post i’ve been thinking about it more and i think it’s more of a metaphor for her pain; a physical act that we can see and what it means to 2B to, once more, have to kill him. i find myself agreeing with her hacking him, and its something we simply don’t see. the act is more a representation of what it feels like to kill him.  and its fucking painful. 

      “    why  ------  why did you desert YoRHa?    ”      pod 042 hovers at her side, advising against her current course of action.  she ignores him , blade lowered , non-threatening , missing the ever reassuring presence of 9S at her side  (  emotions run rampant despite every effort to deny them  ) .  fingers curl about the hilt , grip tight as she stands still , waiting for a response  (  be it aggressive or not  ) .  the desire to know far greater than preservation , or the looming threat of being branded traitor ; she waits.  what was it that drove A2 to act as she did ?  head tips subtly , far more human than android , and she wants answers more than anything  (  for herself ; for him  ) .      “    why do you fight against me ?    ”

Armored legs felt heavier than normal--you noticed--as you climbed upward. The reason could have been from anything; it wasn’t worth thinking over. You were more concerned with the odd layout of whatever this place might be.

Tall structures cluttered the skyline above. They seemed old. Ancient, even. You couldn’t place them properly; your memory wasn’t any help either. So--much like you did on a normal basis--you continued to walk. One armored foot after another.

Ah, your armor. It was more like your skin now wasn’t it? The heavy cracks and deep indents reflected your soul. You’d die eventually--or turn into a mindless creature. A hollow.
