@regiuscustos, we’re more than you could have imagined
Mornings had always been a slow and tedious affair for Sheik. Perhaps before, it was easier to rise with the sun and to tend to one’s needs. Before when didn’t feel the warmth of another with them every morning and night. When they didn’t have someone with lips like velvet pressed against their neck, gesture loving and lazy. The temptation to simply stay in bed with Impa only increased with each passing day and soon duty was left forgotten in the back of their mind.
But this morning was one filled lingering questions, biting at the back of their mind.
Were they uneasy about what their relationship entailed?
Yet a part of them also insisted that no. They weren’t uneasy. Simply curious about what their ever dutiful partner thought...of how she viewed the both of them. For she was a woman wise, perhaps even wiser than them, and they were ever eager to listen for each of her words. For what she had to say.
Hadn’t they always looked up to her, craving for her attention? For her love?
Impa’s words were enough to pull a smile at Sheik’s lips, amused and perhaps lacking any surprise. How typical of her. Yet would they have preferred it any other way?
“As you said, αγαπητέ μου. A couple.” A moment’s pause as the Sheikah mulled it over. It seemed so very simplistic, describing it as such. Perhaps romantic overtures did not easily suit the nature of their relationship, but Sheik had always been one for poetic words and overarching ideals of love. Deep down, they wondered if they truly deserved such fortune.
“But there’s more to it than that. You’re important. Not just in matters of the world, of our fate, of our journey. But you’re important to me. We are not bound together by only our carnal desires, but also our trust in not only love but of our lives. To find someone whom I could so wholly trust...”
Sheik took their own cup of tea, nestling it carefully and taking a sip as warmth spread from their core to the tips of their loosely bandaged fingers. Hidden was the widening of their smile behind the porcelain.
“I never thought myself to be so fortunate to have such a fate. To have a fate with you.”
