So the the brief is now extended to include another vlog regarding our experience here at BCT so far as well as the option to refilm our first Vlogs we have filmed. I have saved and dedicated the whole of today to re-research and reconsider how I will be filming this new vlog regarding the refilm of my first vlog. This week Ricardo had re specified what he had previously meant in his brief and how many people have misinterpreted it towards their own experience rather than generalizing the question given. In my own opinion I felt that the brief given was extremely broad and not specified enough to be able to criticize other peoples vlog given the extremely broad question. However, now that I have viewed many other peers vlogs as well as criticizing my own vlog I am now more aware as to the mistakes I have made in addressing the questions needing answers in my vlog and I am certain than I can assert a much more clearer answer to the brief required.

The first things to reconsider is the content and reflecting on what I have previously filmed in my vlog. I now understand that I have answered several questions that regard experience and other queries that are not related to the broader question of what Creative Technology as a whole is rather than just the degree in AUT. What I DON’T understand is that certain vlogs that were commended for their excellency had qualities that Ricardo had specifically spoke negatively of. These include such things as not getting to the point within the first 20 seconds of the video as well as talking about experiences rather than the broader label of ‘creative technology’ and one common thing that I have picked up was that many peers bluntly spoke of; ‘sucked up’ to the BCT degree in which they spoke extremely highly of regarding it extremely positively as well as referring to the degree with immense intelligent creativity. I find it hard to believe that these peers find this course that amazing or even regard it that highly especially when considering that it has only been a month and a half through the first year. Even the 2nd and 3rd years refer to the first year BCT course as “Cringe Tech”.

Reconsidering the content that is to be re filmed and reanalyzed about I have considered twisting the definition of the brief and talk about existing creative technologists and consider their backgrounds, passions and interests. These insights will perhaps give me a better understanding as to what could be theoretically possible through the self taught education of this degree. I have some inspiring people in mind that also broadens and stretches of what a creative technologist could be. Here are just a few of what I plan on talking about:
