The other trash rescue project we've been working on. Only one coat of paint and a dry fit on the seats, but it's coming along. Chairs, fabric, and paint used put us at about $5 per chair.
Behold my baby sketchbook! Covers are wallpaper samples, stitching is a messy coptic binding that I then hid under cloth because it was ugly and annoying. Signatures are... some cheap cotton watercolour paper I got when I was first buying painting supplies that will be fine for a sketchbook.
I AM STUPIDLY PROUD. WITNESS ME!
My room box is here! I can finally start building my shitty 80s studio apartment.
My rule is that I can't spend more than the person living in the apartment would have spent on anything miniature for it. Thus far, only the couch has even come close, but it's the PERFECT couch. Like, my parents OWNED this couch. I may very well have been conceived on the real world equivalent. If not, every childhood sick day surely left enough DNA embedded in that scratchy polyester upholstery to clone another little anxiety-ridden monster.
I can't wait to spill something on it, put a piece of duct tape on the front corner, and figure out how to burn a cigarette hole in the arm.
I did a thing. Fully resurrected from the trash, and ready to live another 60 years or so.

Finished lamp! Vintage hat, circa 1950s, upcycled milk glass ball, crystal elements, and curly maple stock and base from lamps around the same time. New wiring by me. π
Now it just needs a popcorn ceiling with watermarks and cobwebs in the corners.
My bff was here for a visit, so naturally we decided to eat yummy things and make some art together. I taught him how to make books, and he researched some insane French binding that blew me away after making his first chain stitch journal (and then promptly his second and third) about 12 hours before.
I made a cased journal with marbled endpapers, and then did some foil accents on the cover. (You can also see a peek of my WIP in the last pic.)
