#reed quick

Ashe spends the whole bus ride to school on her phone, chatting on Social Bunny with some of her classmates. Her best friend, Elsie, hasn’t aged up yet, so she’ll join Ashe at school in a few days time. Ashe hopes she can make some friends that she can introduce her best friend to, making her transition to highschool even smoother than her own. 

Random Student: “Hey, you!”

Ashe: “Huh? Me?”

Ashe steps off the bus and walks straight into an argument between two sims that she’s not met yet. A badly glitched out townie jabs her finger into one student’s chest, then yells loudly at another. She’s complaining about their outfits - how they rolled a more cohesive look than she did. 

Taking a deep breath, Ashe steps in. She draws upon her part-alien abilities to project calm into the air around her. The tension lightens as Ashe places a hand on the badly glitched out sim’s shoulder. 

Ashe: “Hey, friend, there’s no need to be jealous. The Sim God loves giving makeovers to townies. I’m sure yours is coming soon.”

Slowly, the fight fizzles out. The poor sim who was getting yelled at introduces herself as Tova. It’s her first day too. She doesn’t know why she was targeted by that other sim. 

As the afternoon rolls on, most of the wedding guests squeeze inside. The skies finally open up, sending a downpour upon Henford-on-Bagley. 

It’s been a long day and Ivy’s exhausted. Her feet hurt from her awkward heels. Her happiness makes her feel like she’s floating on air - finally married to her beloved soulmates. It’s a shame that her body doesn’t physically feel the effects of being on cloud nine!

Her sister-in-law, Una, catches her arm. Ivy can’t remember who she’s spoken to over the course of the afternoon. It’s been a blur of eating, drinking and talking to every sim at the wedding. 

Una: “Ivy, I just wanted to apologise for not inviting you to my wedding with Glitchy. I wish we’d had a bigger ceremony, but…”

Ivy: “Not an issue, Una. You and Glitch are so important to Reed, so there’s no way she’d have missed your special day. We’re pretty free spirits, so feel free to use our reception to celebrate your nuptials too!”

All that Reed wants to do is burst into tears of joy!

How did she get so lucky to have two amazing sims by her side? Not only are Kana and Ivy her soulmates, but they’re her fated mates, her bandmates, her best friends and mothers to her children. 

Reed: “I…I…oh plumbobs. I…”

Taking a deep breath, Reed pulls back slightly from her partners so she can look at them directly. She doesn’t look at their wedding guests, knowing that she will lose her nerve if she feels all of the eyes on her. The words written from deep in her heart are for Ivy and Kana only.

Reed: “I…I think everyone knows that since I was young, I’ve always been a romantic at heart. I’ve witnessed some of the greatest love stories in our family. Music became my outlet for my wanderlust, which wanted to follow every tug on my heartstrings. I’m glad I slowed myself down, letting myself journey through loneliness and heartbreak until I found you both. Kana and Ivy, you are the inspiration behind every note from my fingertips. Our children, Ashe, Thorne and Hex, form every word that I sing. Thank you for being my forever. I love you both so much!”

Before anyone can burst into happy tears, Kana catches Reed’s eye. The cheeky smile on her face draws the biggest grin from Reed. They look up and across to Glitch who stands up from the back of the small wedding space.

Glitch: “You are now wives! Get smoochin’!”

Before and after school, Hex spends her days holed up in her bedroom.

She’s made up with her mothers after their blazing row, but as it gets closer to her mothers going on tour with their band, the Fated Mates, Hex hides away from them. Her bedroom is her safe space. As soon as she steps outside, her whole world could turn upside down. She could be left at home without her mothers whilst they tour the world, or she could be dragged along with them. Neither option will help her anxiety. 

UnderTheWeather: “Hex, you’ve lost another round. Talk to me.”

Hexagon: “Sorry, Ley. My mums leave in a few days and I still don’t know if they’re pulling us out of school and homeschooling us on the road. I have exams tomorrow. I can’t concentrate, but I can procrastinate and play games with you.”

UnderTheWeather: “No way, Tricky. You need to study. I’ll log off if you don’t do your homework.”

(Ugh this sucks, the first sim in this legacy to die of something other than old age.

Lydia passed away from death by rabbit of all things!

I don’t know why I didn’t think about them being such a danger! Esme had befriended all of the rabbits in her garden - but leaving some of the family to the risk of neighbourhood stories takes our first life at a young age!

You can probably tell that MCC dropped this bomb on me when I was planning Reed, Kana and Cara’s wedding. I missed the notification that Lydia passed away and had to dig into the family tree to find her fate. 

All the feels float around the Quick home as the family return to the home where they grew up.

Zeta feels the wave of nostalgia hit her hard like a tsunami as she steps foot into her old home. She raised five amazing children here with her wife, Esme. The house remains untouched since she and Esme moved out to tend to the larger family farm in Windenburg. Her kids’ paintings still hang around the front door. Even one of her wedding photos remains on the wall above a faux fireplace. 

It’s overwhelming to look back on all of the wonderful memories made in this home. Esme’s brother, Dilan, moved in to the farm years ago - a house swap of sorts. Since then, his daughters have grown up and he’s lost his wife, Lydia. Dilan now has a new partner, Genevieve, and has a child with her - named Ella. There have been some huge changes for the family, even if the home looks the same.

Zeta stops short in the living room as she regards her daughter, Jazz, chatting to her brother-in-law, Verge. She can remember the day when her daughter’s feet wouldn’t touch the floor, and now she’s a fully grown sim!
