♡ Plot Inspired By: as much as i love you, i cannot stand being around you and would rather walk on glass || kris and your muse have a complicated relationship, to put it lightly. one moment they could go ahead and have a civil conversation to wanting nothing to do with them. the twist in all of this? they are both enemies who probably shouldn’t be getting friendly. ♡

so here it was, another moment of the assassin standing in front of the path of another fellow assassin, this was either a blessing or a curse but kris wasn’t entirely sure which one it was and that was something that made the young male feel a bit...how should it be said, uneasy? considering there were moments -many moments might it be added- that the pair had indeed crossed lines when it came to their positions. there shouldn’t be a reason in anyone’s mind that these two should have these moments yet it happens. something kris wasn’t positive he wants to think too much about it and simply just pushed all sorts of thoughts in the back of his head. instead, the male clicked his tongue as he stared at the other “i see you’re here to take my job...again, why don’t you head back home. i can take care of the target”

Peter was honestly a little surprised he’d managed to do this, he truthfully thought that the second he’d go to even do anything he’d suddenly find a gun pointed at him or something but no spidey sense so no gun, not this time at least, maybe next time if there ever was a next time. 

He couldn’t help the laugh that left his lips as he moved onto her bed. “I.. Am besting the great Black Widow.” He teased as he moved to lightly, flop down on top of her, he could barely see her and honestly, pressing the weight down on her was mostly a tactic to stop her getting free and beating him up, she really did intimidate him at time. 

it was one of the first music videos he was going to shoot, uncertain of how it would actually go. “it’s about a lost kid who finds warmth in the sun’s rays, in the faint noises of conversations on the subway. i saw some of your skills.. you’re talented. that’s why i want you to embody my song into a dance. dancers...” he pauses, placing his hand on his chin to find the correct words to use. “...personify the demons we unleash. whether that’s through the physical doings or mentally--” he stops himself, cutting himself short because he knows as a songwriter, he would ramble onto something irrelevant.

Dustfinger’s foot tapped nervously against the car floor mat as he stared out the window at the approaching airport.  It was the kind of massive building that he tended to stay away from, covered in massive windows and clearly packed full of people.

Somehow, he’d allowed Natalia to convince him to take a plane with her to America, to meet the rest of her team in New York.  His immediate objections had been easily ruled out.

He spoke the language surprisingly well, for having never noticed learning it.  She’d slipped into English without him even noticing the switch from German, but she said he spoke with an accent.  Most likely whoever had translated Inkheart into English had been from England.  Or at least that was the current working theory.

He’d also worried about not having the correct papers, but of course that was no problem for an organization like SHIELD.  And as he had nothing of any substance besides the Fire Raisers to leave behind, there seemed to be no good reason why he shouldn’t go.

Besides his abject terror, of course.  He did his best to hide it, but even Dustfinger knew that Natalia, and probably everybody else, saw straight through him.  From what she’d told him about the day ahead, every moment of it would be torture to him.

“You’re still awake?” 

The question was an earnest one as the android strode into the room that was still apparently occupied. He hadn’t anticipated anyone else being up and about at this late of an hours. He himself didn’t sleep, but he certainly didn’t expect anyone else to forego such a necessary routine.

“You’re putting yourself at risk of insomnia, you know.”

What had sparked the sudden ability to speak on his desire, he had no clue. But before he knew it, the words had been out of his mouth and he’d been mentally preparing himself for a slap in the face. But then she’d said yes, and he stood shocked for a brief moment, staring down at her. Ever since that day in the mall, whenever he’d been around her, his mind kept wandering back to that kiss - one only meant to conceal who they were - wishing it had been real rather than a decoy. A hand came up to rest against her cheek as he lowered his head, pressing his lips softly against hers. He pulled back after a brief moment. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to do that.”

Hunter rolled his eyes, rocking their child gently.

“A girl who takes after you could win over anyone they wanted. I fear no heartbreaks for our daughters. If you want a son, I will give you as many children as it takes.”

kris understood that this was simply their job, simple as that. they both were assassin’s doing their own respective job. if anything kris learned over his years within this field, it’s that not always do things go the way you planned them. sometimes, you’re going to have to go around to get to the finish line. it doesn’t have to be just related to natalia afterall, it happens outside of that. he gets into such situations from time to time and honestly? it pisses him off more than anything but what can he do? throw a fit? he took a deep breath as he went ahead and took a seat at the small couch that was within the hotel room. pulling out all the important files he had on hand and started to flip through everything. reading if he could find any little opening for him to still fix this without having to report back that the target was long gone. 

he spent a good while on this, his eyes getting tired from rereading the same file sometimes more than five times. but eventually he found something, a small little detail about who the target worked with. it was basic information but it was something that kris could work off with. maybe if he can sneak into where the target worked, maybe he could find something at his office or wherever they kept important information. so with that, he left his hotel room and made his way out the city once again. on his way to the location where the target worked at and that meant it was a job for sneaking in without being noticed. something kris could handle

or so he hoped he wouldn’t have a specific somebody popping in
