Anyway, here's a snippet of a new fic I'm writing from my ever-growing pile of things that could, conceivably, be an Inktober prompt! It was tough to only get five-ish sentences, but here we go!
He clutched the scroll tighter in his hands. The local banns, arls, and teryns had worked themselves up into a frenzy, listening to every zealot in their lands who claimed to have seen mages sneaking across their fields at night, heading in whatever direction faced Vigil’s Keep. It was nothing but hearsay, but Alistair would be damned if he sent some Reverend Mother or Knight-Commander to go interrogate Redren.
The last thing he needed was some person of the Maker strung up from the battlements.
