Announce: Redmatrix version 1.10 now available from https://gihub.com/friendica/red . For a description of the project please see https://redmatrix.me .
Changes since redmatrix 1.9
- Lots of Diaspora compatibility fixes. Signed comments, reshares, private messaging, likes (and dislikes) of posts (and comments), rendering of wall-to-wall posts, and more. After some initial failures with allowing Diaspora members to post to redmatrix forums this is now also supported.
- Added pre-defined permission roles - to reduce member confusion over permissions settings. Removed the redundant âquick settingsâ. These can be altered/tweaked on a per-hub basis to match site policy. Currently defined channel roles are:
social
social_restricted
social_private
forum
forum_restricted
forum_private
feed
feed_restricted
soapbox
- Ability for a hub to provide a default connection or connections for new members - e.g. âMySpace Tomâ.
- Allow CMS page design elements (webpages, layouts, blocks) to be shared and installed by your connections on their own sites
- Allow interaction with âDiscover tab itemsâ (when permission allows).
- For endless scroll pages containing image blocks, use a default item count of 60; which can be factored evenly more than most any number under 100.
- New default avatars to choose from.
- Hide the mimetype selector on webpages unless âexpert modeâ is enabled.
- Events can now have categories.
- RSS message-ids are now url-encoded so as not to trip up modules which take message-ids as path arguments.
- âdowngrade_accountsâ whose premium subscription may have lapsed had the arguments reversed. I donât believe anybody is providing account subscriptions yet.
- Make âauto-permissionsâ and mentions work across networks.
- Endless scroll added to connections page.
- Provide an admin setting to enable/disable email verification (default is enabled).
- Fix - adding RSS feeds to collections
- Make RSS posts with titles and permalinks bookmarkable.
- Fix - attributions on RSS items with no author should be the connection. Never a wall-to-wall.
- Better compatibility with Diasporaâs method of resharing posts (which also helps reduce the error rate of missing posts slightly on that network as they can be refetched if they are known to be missing).
- Rework photo album and photo summary pages to use âsmart layoutâ.
- Lots of redbasic theme/usability improvements.
- Stylistic improvements to photos pages.
- âView Sourceâ limit window size to < current display.
- New module: service_limits - so you know when you are getting close to the service class limits provided by a free account.
- API: add group/collection listing/enumeration ability
- Add lots of additional info (including site statistics) to siteinfo/json page.
- Allow sites to completely over-ride smarty templates.
- Additional redbasic schemas (theme flavours) added
- Optionally link post titles to permalink
- improvements in the xchan diagnostic tool
- Merge all the different install doco to a single file and reference that from the other locations.
- Provide protocol level hub declaration to broadcast important channel hub changes (hub deleted, hub change primary, etc.)
- Privacy: restrictive stream permissions are not honoured on other networks. If a post is not fully public or specifically targetted, donât send it to other networks.
- Implement service class restrictions on total_identities, connected channels and feeds when importing (cloning) a channel.
- Add posts to channel import/export (cloning).
- Use 24 hour clock outside EN-US
- Bug: content collapsing while reading under rare circumstances
- Documentation updates
- Plugin changes: statistics_json for Diaspora stats, openclipatar for choosing profile photos from avatar libraries, libertree allow self-signed cert, rework of addon settings page, custom home , piwik and openstreetmap updates, and more.
Many thanks to the many people in the redmatrix community who helped out in this release. There is an astounding amount of work going on.
