His seclusion from the dance with Ros is better than the dance itself. Without cheesy disco balls and dated music they find happiness just being together; relationships blossomed from friendships have that upside. She’s honest with him BEFORE catastrophic events something he thought Sabrina always would be.
The clicking of heels on tiles pulls Harvey away from their kiss, anticipating a chaperone to round the corner and shoo them back to the dance. It’s way WORSE. Sabrina and her date appear from the direction of Miss Wardwell’s office ( news spread pretty quickly they were caught in the library ).
“Sabrina -- !” Harvey stands quickly, blushing as though he’s been caught doing something he shouldn’t be. Why does he feel guilty? As he pointed out earlier in the day: they aren’t girlfriend and boyfriend anymore. Ros seems to sense his stress and takes his hand, squeezing a little bit for support.
“You um, so you came to the dance. After all, I mean.” He says lamely, like he hasn’t noticed her across the gym or when she left. “Hey.” The greeting towards Nick is a little flatter, but the warlock did save his life and if he made Sabrina happy . . . Harvey can’t hate him that much.
