ngl i wasn't sure how to put these together, but i hope this worked!
"Just say the word." Benedict teased at you, his grin showing off his teeth. You laughed at him, giggling at the intentions behind his words. It was a warm day as the two of you promenade, passing many other young couples. But the two of you were no couple, even though you wished to be.
"What word? I have nothing." You said with your own tooth filled smiled. Benedict ran his tongue over his lower lip as his grin remained. Benedict quickly stepped out in front of you, facing you directly. You stopped and gave him a soft glare, wanting to get your point across.
For years the two of you had been friends, best friends even. Benedict had always been there to save you at dances from old men. While you were always happy to be the excuse as to why he hadn't started courting yet. It wasn't until this year that your feelings had started to change, yearning for something more.
Benedict raised his eyebrows in a questioning manor. "If you do not have any words then I shall share mine." He put a hand out, gesturing for you to grab it. Your gloved hand rested in his own while your heart started to race. "Love. It is what I feel for you."
