We got them delivered to the salt this morning. Mike Cook's container, with all the timing equipment and track markers showed up too! The timing tower is set up and a lot of the mile markers are in! The big guys, team Ack Attack, are hoping to get their container tomorrow. It has been stuck on the ship, for unknown reasons, which is really unfortunate. Top 1 Oil, Ack Attack's sponsor, is also the major sponsor of this event. We wouldn't be able to run at this event, if not for their generosity. I'm hoping to make a test run tomorrow, on aviation fuel. The Fuel that I'd prefer to run, is in Mike Akatiff's container....:-/ After Shane Tecklenberg looks at the data, makes some changes??? I'll try to qualify for the record in my class. It is currently 262.471 mph, held by Al Lamb, who is also here.....waiting for his bike. Yesterday Ralph Hudson departed for Bolivia where it's rumored exists the best salt and conditions, suitable for legends to surpass their maximums. . For the past five years Ralph has helped me with my racing, gave me shop space to work on my bikes, and took time to guide me through building and rebuilding engines for my 160, Bultaco, BMW, and now Aermacchi. He's taught me that going fast is about more than just combustion. . In an effort to return Ralph's generosity, I worked crew on his land speed race team. My effort to give back backfired. Through Ralph's trust and because he let me tag along to assist month after month at El Mirage and then at Bonneville, I ended up learning even more. It also led to starting a land speed racing program of my own so that I'm able to reach my goal of becoming a second generation Bonneville record holder, only possible because of Ralph's support and encouragement. . In November Ralph became the fastest motorcycle of El Mirage with a speed of 266mph. Reaching this goal has led to new goals and opportunities unfolding, like racing in Bolivia. Not being able to go to Bolivia in order to help and do everything I can to ensure things go well is difficult, so needless to say, I'm distracted. . Please help me think fast and safe thoughts for this legend on his quest to be the fastest.
