"I-I don't like ketchup." Khare mumbled softly. Anymore was left unspoken, the word hanging off the tip of her tongue like a droplet of water stubbornly clinging to the faucet, threatening to fall yet never doing so. She liked ketchup before... everything changed, the sweet tangy taste now a ghost of a memory. She'd tried it a few times while working at Pauli's Diner, absent-mindedly dabbing her finger on a splotch of red sauce. Her tongue recoiled at the taste, what was once sweet now stabbing at her tastebuds as her body scrambled to match the flavour to memories of old. Now it was off, bland yet cloying, tastebuds trying to guess what it tasted like now compared to before, making the whole experience decidedly unpleasant as she struggled to get the taste out of her mouth. Raw liver was something that was supposed to taste revolting no doubt; she'd never even liked it cooked, tasting far too metallic yet now? It was ambrosia, silky offal sliding down her gullet like a dream. The colder the better. Her fingers clutched the still-wrapped package almost protectively, itching to tear into it as soon as possible. "Maybe I guess I'm getting older. Tastes changing and all that."
