Upon replay the bit in Dead Space 1 where you have to hold the Necromorphs off of Nicole while she unlocks a security door for you is very funny. Spoiler warning for a game from 2008, the big ending twist is that Nicole has been dead since before the game even started and Isaac knew that but was in incredible denial and the version of Nicole you've been seeing the whole game was just the Marker getting inside his mind and manipulating him into doing its dark bidding using the image of the one he loves. So bearing that in mind, the fuck was actually happening in that defense section?! The Necromorphs were just doggedly slashing at the empty air where Isaac's hallucination happened to be while a security door hacked itself?!
