To you (reader),
How do you view the state of the government and politics in America?
Do feel that your thoughts, hopes, and votes count?
Are we lost to the almighty dollar?
Does the political circus frustrate you?
Do you wish there was something you could do?
Recent polling data shows clearly that a majority of people give a negative approval rating to every branch of government. Polling data also shows that a majority of people disapprove in the direction this country is heading.
The frustration that we feel is justified, but arguing about it, agreeing with each other around the water cooler, or complaining in our chat rooms is not sufficient enough. It will not foment change from the status quo or protect any of our remaining liberties.
Ladies and gentlemen, the time has come to fulfill our civic duty as laid out by this country’s Founders; George Washington, James Madison, and Alexander Hamilton:
“It is of infinite moment that you should properly estimate the immense value of your national union to your collective and individual happiness; that you should cherish a cordial, habitual, and immovable attachment to it; accustoming yourselves to think and speak of it as the palladium of your political safety and prosperity; watching for its persecution with jealous anxiety, discountenancing, whatever may suggest even a suspicion that it can in any event be abandoned; and indignantly frowning upon the first dawning of every attempt to alienate any portion of our Country from the rest, or to enfeeble the sacred ties to which now link together the various parts….”
Our goal is to gather the full might of the “Silent Majority.”
That’s you, me; We the People. We wish to create an interactive experience where you can be heard, anyone can contribute, and you can find support in your ideas. An experience that empowers us to fight to restore originalist ideas of American liberty.
There are groups who support every minority cause out there; ranging from the environment to sexual rights, oil to silicon valley. Who looks out for the majority? Who looks out for someone who just wants to go to work, care for their family, and pursue happiness as much as possible?
Unfortunately, the answer is no one. In this political climate, that’s not how you get elected.
We are on our own and it is our responsibility to work to preserve our remaining rights. In the words of Thomas Jefferson:
“I consider the source of authority with us to be the nation. Their will, declared through its proper organ, is valid till revoked by their will…”
Fellow citizen, we are that organ.
We must shake off the atrophy of decades of complacency.
We must flex that organ so that our public servants may know, once again, who it is they serve.
