Red Circuits Don't Frighten Me || Vira && Quorra
Rectification hadn’t improved the virus’s attitude, but it had improved her appearance.  The normally scruffy virus was clean, her uniform mostly neat and apparently free of burn marks, for now at least.
Her hair was mostly straight although she’d left it loose, a sign that the virus wasn’t hunting. She was paying attention to every black guard and sentry who passed. She even turned curiously to examine a few, but her programming was strict; there would be no dalliances.
A dark sigh escaped her as she stalked towards the throne room. Her handler hadn’t been quick enough to instigate the commands, and now she was free of him – for the time being. Oh, she’d left him alive. She had to. But he wasn’t breaking through the handcuffs intended for her anytime in the next cycle. She smiled to herself as she approached the doors to CLU’s throne room.
“He’s in an audience –” one of the guards tried to explain, although he wasn’t stupid enough to physically stop her. Vira chuckled.
You think I give a shit?
She kicked open the doors that usually took at least two programs to manually open – her security clearance was nowhere near this level, for good reason – and strode into the room.
“You thought collars would hold me back?” Her voice crackled with barely hidden disgust. “How long must I wait before you let me do what I am programmed to do?”Â
