Now spinning: Ayalew Mesfin and The Black Lion Band “Hasabe-My Worries” Latest @vinylmeplease record of the month on maroon vinyl. I’m sure that plenty of people swapped this one out either A) Because they’d never heard of the artist or B) Because they couldn’t understand the lyrics. I elected to stand pat, because even though I had genuinely never heard of Mesfin, the main reasons I signed up for @vinylmeplease were to receive rare releases I couldn’t get anywhere else, to discover new up and coming artist, and to be put in touch with an artist from another generation that had slipped by me. I don’t regret my decision at all. Great jazzy/funky/world vibe to this one and its so awesome that a new generation of fans will now know this music.
