Ethel Gabriel
Music producer Ethel Gabriel was born in 1921 in Milmont Park, Pennsylvania. During a 40-year career with RCA, Gabriel produced over 2,500 albums. In 1955, she helped RCA sign Elvis Presley. Four years later, Gabriel became the first woman to receive an RIAA Gold Record. This was the first of her fifteen gold records. Other artists she worked with included Glenn Miller, Perry Como, Dolly Parton, and Tommy Dorsey.
Ethel Gabriel died in 2021 at the age of 99.

The Last Hal Willner Project
Nick Paumgarten has written a wonderful article on the inspired, eclectic work of Hal Willner, His projects include the songbooks of Disney, Monk, Kurt Weill and a dozen others with artists ranging from Sun Ra to Taj Mahal. At 64, he was a victim of COVID-19 earlier this year. It was a great loss.
