Any reccomendations for queer media?
So, queer media as in ‘protagonist (and a decent chunk of villains/supporting cast) are queer”, as in ‘that, but the fact that they’re queer is also very important to the themes of the work/the story wouldn’t work if they were straight,’ or ‘that, and also it’s like, happy and uplifting and won’t leave you emotionally ruined once you finished’?
Because those are all going to get, uh, very different answers.
(books-wise, #1: A Memory Called Empire by Arkady Martine and/or Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir (but I can keep going for a while if you want more), #2 The Traitor Baru Cormorant by Seth Dickinson, #3 Winter’s Tide by Ruthanna Emrys, probably. If you’d prefer games or tv or whatever, please do just say, same if you’d like more details/content warnings. If you’d prefer comics, well I only read like 3 but I’m pretty sure they all count)
...I should say that I basically only read SF&F or nonfiction, so I’ve got basically nothing grounded or literary to offer, I’m afraid.
