More Iterations/New Colors. Pattern inspired from Hawaiian Caper Flower.

Here are a few more test iterations for my IP project.  The top is a screen print of a pattern I created inspired and abstracted from Endangered Plants in the United States, and the bottom two are hand painted using dyes in an attempt to create more of a watercolor look.

Several pattern iterations inspired fromSoapwort Gentian (otherwise known as Harvest Bells), an endangered species native to the East Coast, Great lakes, and southern Texas areas.

These are a few more iterations of patterns inspired from endangered plants.

Patterns for IP: This is my second pattern created for my IP project.  The top image is a picture I took of a plant at the Botanical Gardens.  I used this natural shape as inspiration.  Taking different parts of the plant, I created geometric shapes. The image under the photograph from the Botanical Gardens is where I began and as you travel down the images, you can see my progression through several different iterations using the 7 basic concepts of symmetry. 

A Pattern a day: This summer I tried to create at least one repeated pattern each day.  These are just a small sampling of what I was able to accomplish.
