For my readymade color project, I have decided to change the color of my ring light from black to light brown and dark brown. To do this, I have used 2 head scarves that I use sometimes in my day to day life. I have decided to use this material because I typically use my ring light to create content, one being hair videos, so I thought it would change the meaning of the ring light only being a ring light. I have also decided to use the color brown as it creates a very neutral state that I wanted.

In this project, I was supposed to find an object that is 3ft and change its color without using paint and spray paint. I decided to use a vacuum cleaner. At first, finding an exact object of 3ft was challenging, so I decided to use an old, broken vacuum cleaner I had at home. The color of the vacuum cleaner was gray, and I wanted to use a vibrant color, so I decided to use pink. I used materials like pink tape and glitter. While changing the color, I decided to make a light pink base and then cover it over thicker pink tape. Over the metal sides of the exhaust port, I covered it in pink glitter and added glitter onto the cover and dust bag on the vacuum cleaner. I tried to make sure the tape was smooth to capture the shape and make it recognizable that my object was a vacuum.

And here is the final result! I am honestly pleased to see how much the lighting changed the way my object looks. For the images I took, I wanted to experiment more with color and how color can change the way an object is presented. I also took a few more images in a more neutral environment to show the contrast in an environment with not much activity in comparison to the other in which it feels like there are too many things going on at once. There was a lot of trial and error in the process of this project since I had to originally dump my other idea, but an attempt at this once more really helped shape my view on color and the importance of it in the world. It looks almost as if this array of colors really brings life to this object.

in this assignment we had to select any object at least 3 feet tall and change its color in any available way except using paints or pencils with pens. One of the videos that the professor showed us in class greatly inspired me for this assignment. In it, the author of the video showed how he manipulates the light of lanterns that acquire different colors from the rainbow to give a certain meaning and illustration to the composition. I tried something similar and a very interesting result came out in the sense that the color I used in this video gives a completely alternative meaning to all the objects participating in the video, namely ominous and terrible. In this regard, I really liked this manipulation of lighting and how it can change the essence of the subject with simple actions.
